"Easy does it" The boy said to himself, an orange flame emitted from his hand, above it a grill suspended by small manifested chains, and on that, venison and leeks. Nemo's things littered the bell tower floor, small open bags of spices, the shining metal pieces of his disassembled pistol, his canteen, a few books some open and about and others stacked upon each other, his bed roll made of pelts, an oil lantern, a tarnished compass with an old map, a walking stick and various other items which you would expect a traveler to have. The morning sun was bright, the sky mostly clear with wispy stratus clouds far above. The fragrance of the food Nemo was grilling was delightful leeks lightly salted and venison with a dry rub, the scent of cooked, juicy meat had already diffused in that high tower. "Done!" he uttered excitedly, alas he gets to finally sink his teeth into this simple yet delicious meal, with cooking tongs he placed the leek, split down the middle and cooked to a near perfect consistency, on a wooden plate. And then he did the same to the venison, still sizzling, pleasing to the olfunctory. The boy started with the meat "A bit spicy" he said to himself a he chewed a piece of venison, he quickly chowed down on the venison and soon did the same to the leeks Crunch! they went each time the boy dug his teeth into them. "ahh, today is the day I get to meet the oracle. A person of this land whom I may converse with. I wonder whom it'll be and will there be others?" he thought to himself "Man I love this world, much more cheerful than home" he said aloud this time. He began to pack his things, starting with his gun, clicks and clacks, the pieces fitting together perfectly, he twirled it on the trigger guard and grinned, pointing the weapon in the air, he had spent the last few nights charging it up with energy, he then put it in his bag, he had a swig of water from his canteen and used the rest to clean his wares, and strung the canteen up on the side of his bag, then he put away the books, then his cooking wares and spices, then he strung up his oil lantern like his canteen, some pots dangled as such as well, finally he rolled up his bedroll and tied it to the top of his travel pack. He took one good look at the compass and map before putting them in a side pocket of his bag. He propped his bag up next to his walking stick and he patted his sides, weapons check. He walked to the ledge of the bell tower and overlooked the town scouting out areas of interest "lets see" his right eye's slit pupil constricted and his vision began to zoom in, he held his head steady and he began to scan the city markets, taverns, inns, guilds, temples... the town hall? Think, a church of Lucius would be the best place to start, ughh I should have started this search earlier" he soliloquied. His eye returned to normal and he rubbed it out of discomfort. He donned his travel pack and picked up his walking stick with his left hand, he walked to the side of the bell tower that was next to an alley and out of his right forearm he bore a black chain larger than the ones he used earlier, dark flames engulfed the area around the chain on his arm. He swung it at a post on the bell tower and it tightly coiled around it "Nice" he uttered as he began to quickly rappel down the side of the bell tower into the alley. All went smoothly as more chain manifested out of his forearm until it snapped while the boy attempted to slow his descent. The chain, no longer connected disintegrated and was absorbed by the boy. The boy fell a few feet causing discomfort to the joints in his legs "dammit, I'll feel that one later" he said irritably. He decided to check the market first, he gloomily lugged his travel pack down the main street of the town. "Dammit" he cursed again "I hope that this isn't my luck all day" he said as he slowly approached the market. "hmm, maybe instead of searching fruitlessly all day I can just cause a scene and attract everybody's attention to me, I'd be bound to attract somebody who knows something, but... ughh, don't want to attract unnecessary attention... nah" he inquired in his mind as he entered the market. He stayed in the market for a painstaking five minutes before surrendering to instant gratification. he asked one merchant and one traveler about the God Lucius's Oracle to no avail. "I knew that this would be pointless" he uttered as he left the market in a different direction from where he came in. "man, this is pointless" The boy complained "I suppose that I will just wander around town until I find something interesting" the boy sighed, defeatism taking over.
