The way I see it is like this;

We have the Tau, that is true, and he's great for having around for xeno-tech/corrupted stuff that won't destroy him because of his faith in the Tau'va, and so on. The Tech[i]marine[/i] is still a marine, therefore can still be used as a warrior/soldier even if he isn't going around doing tech-related things AKA He has a dual role in the group. I've no idea what Selune's idea is yet, but a Heretek would probably help if we came upon technology that our resident Tau was unfamiliar with AKA Imperial/Pre-Heresy/non-Tau tech.

As for a medic, well, I may be able to help with that.
