If you aren't familiar with Undertale, it is widely recommended that you check it out first before browsing any related content to avoid spoiling the story for yourself. It isn't necessary however, and all are welcome, regardless of your knowledge of the game or any lore associated with it. In this story, you take up the role as one of a group of human children (varied ages between 9 and 17) who find themselves stranded in a massive underground civilization populated by monsters that once freely roamed the surface world before being sealed down below. Surrounded by the unknown, you must find a way back to the surface, one way or another, while avoiding peril and death. The world carries a somewhat 'Alice in wonderland' type feel but with a horror twist. This is where the story differs from the traditional Undertale. The world is more ominous and foreboding, as a world full of strange monsters would be through the eyes of a child. But the threat here is real. These monsters still have their quirks, some of which may save your life. However the creatures of Horrortale tend to be more malevolent and/or dangerous to a human child as apposed to their Undertale counterparts. No, not everything will try to mindlessly kill you. But more caution should be observed while making your way out of the underground. Ultimately, you must decide the path you choose and how you interact with the world. Ideally, a group of 4 to 7 children is enough but I'm not against having more, though I will probably have a cut off point since having a classroom of children stampeding through the underground would be hard to manage. I doubt there will be THAT much interest. But if it is so, it isn't unheard of to have multiple threads of the same topic going on. I've had this idea in off and on development for a few months now and have a story chain lined up already. All I need now is to check interest and add some final touches depending on what I see. If you have any ideas, questions, or contributions, feel free to pitch in.
