Kieran and Cori
In between going from the hospital to his home with Allen, Kieran recieved multiple texts then a call came in befor ehe could read the texts. Kieran looked at who was calling and apologized to Allen, stating how he had to take this call. Kieran answered, still putting on airs for Allen and using a boston accent and different talking style. "Hey hey yea wow can't believe you callin me. Whats up?" On her end, Cori narrowed her eyes in concern. "Kieron? What's with the accent, can you talk now?" she asked, her own voice momentarily deepened as she expelled the cigarette smoke from her lungs. "Yea yea yea no yea we good man. I tried calling you earlier, you straight up ignored me. You get my message though?" She hesitated in continuing, but she supposed that if he insisted everything was fine, she could go on. "Yes, I was...busy," she explained. "You said there was a fight in the city. It's been happening all over. What'd you find?" Kieran laughed slightly. "Doll you know I am always good on my word. But I got sidetracked. I went to visit a friend in the hospital. You may know him actually the guy that was on tv all day? The guy who lost. Yea real sad stuff, but he is gonna be fine. I swear though Ive known this guy for awhile, and to me he has always been smart. Sometimes too smart, like a mind reader you know?" As Kieran spoke, Cori set the cigarette onto an improv ashtray--the keyboard wire held its burning end off the table--and pulled up a browser to check the local news. Sure enough, there was a lot happening in Atlanta. She sighed, eyeing a story about a strange attack by men in black--assumed government officials--on a couple of fugitives, but the headliner was exactly what Kieran was hinting at: superhuman strength clashed with some sort of...telepathy? "I liked that Popeye's," she commented sadly. "Sorry about your friend..." She paused, squinting at a photo of the wanted man: the outfit was familiar, and he was just the right height. Dread set in. "I think I recognize his assalaint," she added, picking up the cigarette to take another drag. "Yea well that makes one of us sista. Dont know anything about the guy who went ape shit on Luke, and honestly he seems like one demonic sum bitch. Scares the hell out of me that I dont know anything about. I mean generally, like if he is prone to randomly attacking. But enough about that dumb stuff, what about you? You hear from that agency yet? The one we read about?" Cori paused as she documented the news stories for her growing case. And she pursed her lips at his questions, the long and violent day replaying in her mind. She might've hesitated too long, but cleared her throat and said, "Yeah, they contacted me directly, actually. I've decided I'm not a fan, but their rates are killer." A nervous laugh, another cough as she cleared her thoat. "Man, I'm looking at the news, and I gotta say: things are going to be changing. You'll need to be careful with all these freaks out there." Kira cleared his throat. She made a joke? freaks? Something is going down on her side. And he didnt know what. "I told you if the agency contacted you, you need to call me. I wanna be there for you ya know?" Kieran chuckled then. "So stop worrying about the news, you have your career and a good life. No sense getting mixed up in all that nonsense. But I promise I will take extra care to be safe while your away. Oh by the way, I bet you I can guess something about you!" Her eyebrows knitted together and she took a moment to glance at the phone. What was he playing at? "Oh?" she prompted, waiting. "No no, this is a game. Name the stakes." Cori sighed into the phone, supposing she'd have to humor him. "A pack of Camels." Kieran laughed. "Those will kill you. Fine. I think you tried looking at my profile online but couldnt find it." "What? No, I--" she looked around, back at the window. When no one was there, she clicked, pulling up his tab to close out of it. "You think I'm that nosy?" "Ah my mistake then. Was sooo sure you tried searching me on the net. And you sounded very convicning just now. Well, doesnt matter. A little hint, I dont go online often. But I hang around people who do. Ive told you some stories about me, and my friends last time we talked remember? try looking that up and you will be to find more than nothing, less than a decent amount." She was taken off guard, she was too flustered. He knew. Cori felt her cheeks flush in embarressment. "I can only imagine," she grumbled, sinking into her seat and taking one last much needed drag. "Are we done?" Kieran laughed again, and this time it was a genuine honest to gods laugh."Yea I'll talk to you later. Come by tomorrow night and you pick up your pack of camels." Cori didn't hang up right away, but there was a pause. "I'm not sure about tomorrow. I was serious that things are about to change. Be careful." ""Yea no you're coming over tomorrow. If things are gonna get busy, then you might as well take one night to relax. I'll make dinner, you can smoke, it will be fun." Kieran then hung up. He pocketed his phone and talked to Allen. "Sorry about that man, like really sorry man. Crazy bitches huh?"
