Okay then...

1) You don't need to be of the Death Guard, only swear allegiance to them and Mortarion - due to them being the first true Plague Marines. Likewise, if he were already part of another Chapter/Legion (I guess this from his history) then he'd not be a member of the Death Guard.

2) Thirty-five years old? So he's essentially a baby Astartes then? There is no way he'd be what he is and in the position he is in after only thiry-five years.

3) Former Guardsmen? The Astartes don't recruit from the Guard.

4) If you're trying to go for a 'not-fully-plagued' marine, then there's no way he'd look like that picture.

That's my quick and general summary thus far.

5) He isn't a Plague Marine; Plague Marines are those who have been truly blessed by Papa Nurgle, are rotten as all Hell, and have sworn allegiance to Mortarion. He could well be a Marine devoted to Nurgle, seeking his favour and hoping to become a Plague Marine, but until that point - a point from which he cannot return - he's just another Marine...albeit one who can withstand punishment/pain and smells a lot.

Ah, I see. Thank you for that insight, I am not that versed in warhammer lore. I'll get to work on editing that stuff.

Most space marines are selected when they are roughly 10-13 years old and go through close to ten years of training and surgeries before they are even made into scout marines. Even the traitor legions, if they are capable of recruiting in the traditional manner and have the resources to perform the surgeries and arm the new brother would probably select recruits at the same age. Or some legions are not above accepting corrupted loyalists into their ranks. The deathguard I believe allows outsiders as long as they swear to Nurgle and Mortarion.

That would still probably put you in the low hundreds in terms of age. like 120-300 years at least

Also i should probably add that Medics for astartes work alot differently than medics for regular soldiers. Being an apothecary for space marines is an actual profession, with specialized equipment and everything and a lot of responsibility as you are tasked with ripping the geneseed organ out of every dead battle brother of your chapter/legion when they die so it can be recycled.

@Jbcool I was going to do the cultist thing but sadly I am going to have to bow out. Things are kinda busy and I am afraid if I take on another RP I will end up dropping and I don't want to do that. I still plan on reading though, this looks like it is going to be a lot of fun :-)

Okay, I see a few options from here really.

Option 1) I just put this RP on the back-burner, as with many others of mine, and send you a 'ping' whenever I get it back out of storage.

Option 2) We three kings get going with it and continue on.

Or, Option 3, we wait for longer and I continue bumping the thread every so often.

What say you guys?

I think we need more than two players and a Gm to forge ahead properly with this. at least one more, just for balancing sake.

We can wait it out for a couple more days, no harm in giving it a go. Failing that hit me up if you ever want to reboot it.
