BANOKLES
Banokles woke up as the first rays of sun touched his eyes. Slowly getting up on his feet, he looked at the bright blue sky. “Seems today would be a good day to walk around the house”, He thought to himself. For him house was another word for home, and till couple of years ago did not know it was a word for an actual building. Jumping head first into the lava, he traveled along with it to the lava pool that was more at the edge of volcanic terrain. Carefully checking that no one was around he rose from the lava and slowly walked out of the pool and went towards teh nearby trees. Full of excitement, he went and check the trees for any kinds of animals he could find hoping he would find some he didn't know yet. While most of them escaped as he approached, the insects and animals with camouflage stayed hoping he would pass them by, the hope was short lived. Banokles went from one tree to the other, never stopping at any of them for more than two seconds, he was like a small child in a large playground with too many interesting things. At the one of the threes he found a large horned beetle, taking a sunbath on teh trunk of teh tree. At first Banokles was mesmerised by teh beautiful colours of the beetles armour and how it would change colours if looked at from different angles. As he was observing the little thing, he started to feel the cold of the air and the soft breeze of midday on his bare skin. He thought about setting his feet on fire, but decided against it, as the last time he tried it he burned half of the forest with it. Deciding to ignore the cold feeling he picked up the beetle like he would pick up a rock, and naturally the beetle disliked that and tried to fly of, once realising it was trapped in a rude human's hand it began to fight for his life and bit Banokles, making him flinch. Banokles let out a yell, released teh battle and retracted his arm looking at his bitten palm. The only sight of the bite were two small red dots on his palm. Banokles inflamed his hand for a second making the wound disappear. Shrugging his shoulders he ran after the beetle, his earlier incident already forgotten. He could feel his body getting colder and feeling tired himself. Ignoring the feeling as he ran after the beetle, as it flew through the air to the next perfect spot for sunbathing. By teh time Banokles reached it, he was cold, hungry and tired. Because of his constant living inside the volcano he did not truly understand those feelings and what they meant, since they would go away if he would take a bath in the core of the volcano. This time he slowly tried to get the beetle to climb to his hand. At first the beetle tried to ignore the irritating man, but seeing how stubborn teh man is, and noting the warmth of his hands he gave in and positioned onto teh stranger's hand. Banokles lifted teh hand with teh beetle up to his eyes so he could have a better look at teh fascinating creature. For awhile he moved around with teh beetle on his hand. By the time he decided to release the beetle he was shivering from cold. He neared a tree and slightly leaned his palm on the trunk, thinking the beetle will move to it. But to teh insect teh warm and soft palm Of Banokles seemed better than the cold hard tree trunk. Banokles annoyed by the beetles lack of will to cooperate with him, he tried to give it a little push with his other hand's finger. The beetle disliking the idea fluttered his wings and turned its head towards the poking finger with his pincers opened as a sign of protest. Banokles who was growing ever more cold and miserable, got irritated by teh beetles reaction and decided to try shoving it of his hand which ended in teh beetle biting his finger. The pain flared teh anger in Banokles and such, for a moment his hands burned with fierce fire, incinerating teh poor beetle. “There you go you stupid bug!” Banokles sneered at his, now empty, hand. Turning on his heels he stormed towards teh lava pool to warm himself up, and clam down. Since he was thrown into teh Volcano, this was how Banokles learned of the world around him.
