Novella had admired them both. Though instant, he had realized why; both Gendrick and Siph were amazingly strong. Leagues above himself he had found their strength somewhat captivating and even more than that, their charisma was strictly intertwined with their exploits. He had a hunch, just a simple guess, that Siph should have been the one overshadowing the wolf. Does he think they're equals? he wondered honestly. If our standing was on stairs than Gendrick was six steps in front of him. But… if he had to guess, Sir Siph was twenty or more steps ahead of Gendrick. Nove’s deep bronze eyes illuminated, a new goal flickering into a blaze. “I want to be strong. As strong as them. No, even stronger than them. I want to be rank: diamond, ” he murmured, watching the pair greet each other. Once Gendrick stepped away, the influx of what Nove perceived as a test of dynamism had faded. Now all that rested in the room was Siph and his beasts’ enormity. How would he deal with himself now? Knowing that there was a summit he wanted to climb, what actions would he take? And how did they fall in line with his search for his mother? Nove begun to draw circles around his temple. Though meager, the short moment of introspection had made his mind fuzzy, borderline stagnant. For Novella his inability to think hard wasn’t as much a hindrance as an annoyance. He strafed a hand through his hair than buckled his sword onto his back with a bit of effort. It was obvious he had only just started to wear it that way. When he finally mounted the longsword it felt as if something had changed. He’d finally stepped off the carriage and arrived at the base of his budding potential. It was time to climb ever higher to the top, he professed in his mindscape. And that would start with him looking to Siph for pointers. The jolly man seemed imposing and encouraging, so Nove strolled over, and stood nearby; his gaze was glued to the hulk-of-a-man. “Sir Siph, I have a question,” he started. “You’re diamond rank, supposed to be the top-adventure in all the world. I think that’s pretty damn cool and… well, I want to be stronger than you. One day, not today. But hopefully sooner than later. What I’m getting at is… Well…” Unconsciously, Nove had felt the pitter-patters of hesitance. He wanted to become stronger than the man; that much was undeniably true. But would it be cheating if he asked him how to do so? he doubted many ever had the opportunity to ask in the first place so he should pounce on it undoubtedly. A new clarity flitted on his face. “Right, on with it,” He inhaled deeply before blowing away his jitters. “Tell me, Siph sir, where do I began my climb to the top? Give me guidance to help me keep myself and everyone alive,” he stressed.
