So I just arrived in this hell scape and already I'm running for my life. Or would that be death... whatever the point is that as soon as the red haired man had finished explaining everything, a pack of ghoulish people suddenly started chasing after me. They were akin to the beggars that you found in most cities, dirty and clothed in rags, but their eyes had a horrid red look to them as the salivated at the sight of me. "Meat... fresh meat..." was the phrase they kept muttering as they chased me. Were they really so hungry as to devour an innocent kitsune? Okay, maybe not entirely innocent but I had done nothing to these people. At least, as far as I knew anyway. My body felt kind of sluggish as I ran. It was like my body had atrophied, as it wouldn't move quite the way I wanted it to. Reaching for my bag of tricks, I realised that I didn't have it on me. Just my luck to lose such a valuable tool when I'm about to be ripped apart by cannibal beggars. The chase went on for what seemed like hours, the wasteland stretching as far as the eye can see. Eventually I saw a peak on the horizon, and so I doubled my pace. I don't know why, I just hoped that there would be someone there who could save me. The ground turned rocky as the mountain got larger, and some of the beasts had fallen off out of exhaustion. I was starting to feel it too, but fear of death is a great motivator. As I reached the mountain and began to climb, I noticed that the beggars had stopped at the foot of it. They appeared afraid to continue, which was fine in my book. After I climbed a fair distance from the base of the mountain, I lay back against a boulder for a well deserved rest. Foolishly, I fell straight asleep, the last remnants of adrenaline had left my system and my body desperately needed to rest.
