For the Earth to be destroyed it would have to be in pieces like Alderan from Star Wars, vaporized with not a single atom left in existance, or whatever else. Short of someone building a death star, a black hole generator, or sending one or more nukes to the core of the Earth, the Earth won't be destroyed by man it will be destroyed by our sun.
