[@Trainerblue192] So you see, once a month a woman's body will prepare an egg for fertilization, releasing it from the ovaries into the Fallopian tubes. While preparing, the uterus gains a lining to pillow the expected fetus and allow for it to attach to something. However, if the egg is not actually fertilized, this lining is unnecessary so the body sheds it along with the egg. Then, a month later the process starts all over, which is why it is referred to as a cycle.
