Sloane
Sloane hesitated in her steps, eyes narrowing at the horizon. She could barely make the group out, but they appeared to be human from this distance. They were still for a moment too...and then started to approach. Whatever they were, they moved in a slumber--but with a new purpose. Her eyes flickered about as she recalled Norihc's words: he had mentioned others but he had also pointed out that this place was for those who had been gifted, better than the typical rubble. And the closer the strange demons got, the less she believed they were even human to begin with. "Gross," she said simply once they were close enough, and her eyes flickered between her tattooed hands. She was still unable to use magic: she didn't feel it respond when she reached for it, she couldn't conjure up a weapon, she couldn't light the monsters on fire. All she could feel was heat flushing her face in anger and another feeling sitting cold at the pit of her stomach. Was that fear? Glaring, she curled her hands into fists: she'd have to take care of these things the old fashioned way. Unfortunately for her human mother (bless her soul), Sloane had taken to human life as a bit of a delinquent--especially as an adolescent. Until her powers returned--or if they never did--those skills would have to carry her through this Hellscape. Now that the monsters were before her, they were chattering about meat, and she was disgusted. It didn't quite read on her face, however, and even on her 4" heels, she stood firm. "Meat!" they continued to groan, and they moved in unison, like one force, as they spread out to close in on her. She remained confident, though, they were slow and zombie-like. So when she stepped back as one reached for her and she jerked her elbow down and knee up to violently sandwich his head between them, she wasn't surprised to see she was down to only five. Just take it easy, she thought, looking between them. She had all the time in the Void here, so she wasn't going to get herself killed by rushing this.
