Although this buff body of his is oft obscured by his tendency to wear baggy clothing, it still reveals itself in other ways, such as his great strength (which allows him to carry even cows with ease!). His well-defined looks are notably masculine, and in a way he can be considered quite handsome indeed.
Background:
Sumita, a small town in the Iwate Prefecture, is not the kind of place to end up on anyone’s radar. With a population under 6,000, sparsely spread across an area a single cougar might find too small, few people know of Sumita and even fewer care about the small town. A town built upon farming and agriculture, embedded by forests and mountains, and during the Warring States period ruled by the famed Date Masamune. Of course, it was a branch family that truly administered the regions, a branch family that was crushed and then reinstated by Date Masamune. Tamura Itsuji, as his name might suggest, is a descendent of that branch family. Not that such a distinction has any real impact in the modern Heisei era under Emperor Akihito. The weight of bloodlines is a lost relic of a past before a democratic Japan. Although speaking truthfully, even in such a past the many branch families composed of retainers never held any true import. Thus the nature of Tamura Itsuji’s blood has no presence on the modern day; the boy barely registers his ancestry to begin with. His concerns instead stem with more pressing modern day issues, for as the eldest, he only had a brief few years of respite before he had to start taking care of his younger siblings. With seven, soon to be eight, younger siblings, Tamura Itsuji has been working hard his whole life. When not taking care of little ones, the boy worked hard on the family farm or in his academics or later at his athletics. Many a midsummer evenings were spent plowing the fields, with a baby brother on his back and music from his Sony Walkman® filling his ears. From a young age, Tamura Itsuji knew what it meant to help others, and that responsibility only grew with age. By Junior High, the boy was helping his neighbours on a near daily basis, and constantly filling in for the many athletic clubs at his school despite only officially being a part of the track and field team. The boy soon gained a reputation for being the one others went to when they needed something. Be it a teacher needing someone to carry papers to another room, or a friend needing somewhere to vent, Tamura Itsuji was the boy for the job. Growing up in such a small town had many benefits for the young boy, not least of all was an ability to foster a relationship with just about everyone in his small rural community. His school, for instance, was an area where it only take a few days for every student to know every other student, even those in other years. Of course it wasn’t just limited to knowing the other students; everyone knew each other’s families and personal situations. They knew who would go on to help at his father’s restaurant and who would inherit the family store. Sure, everyone knew the smart ones would get out of town, but with grades that were only above average, everyone expected Tamura Itsuji to simply take over the family farm after High School. Yet, perhaps a bit surprisingly, such a fact never really dawned on Tamura Itsuji and he was left as yet another young man unsure of which direction he wished to take in his life. While University may not have appeared as an option, Tamura Itsuji still felt lost in his direction. So perhaps it was a blessing that in his 2nd year of High School, a scout from Odaiba High happened to see Tamura Itsuji run in a relay event. Just like that, the young man found himself with a ticket to a wider world and entrance into Odaiba High. While he still might be unsure of where he’s going in life, there’s no denying that his options just got a whole lot bigger.
Personality:
Back home, Tamura Itsuji was known for his remarkably good listening skills. Simply put he is the kind of amicable person people find it easy to talk to. Regardless of the time or place, Tamura Itsuji is always willing to lend an open ear to others. After all, he is the kind of young man that takes great strides in helping others. Tamura Itsuji always feels a certain obligation to help others, likely borne out of the sense of responsibility he’s garnered as the eldest sibling. It is of little surprise to hear then, that Tamura Itsuji is one to go above and beyond for others. Even simply requests can receive extraordinary rewards when Tamura Itsuji is involved. As such Tamura Itsuji is not the kind of presence to go unnoticed. However, despite doing his best to be a shoulder for anyone to lean on, Tamura Itsuji is actually quite naive in regards to much in life. His grasp of social cues and accepted customs is rather underdeveloped, leading to many a misunderstanding between him and others. This is particularly prevalent when he is faced with situations outside of his standard purview, as he has little to fall back upon in order to survive them. Whether it can be as simple as misunderstanding boundaries or completely failing to read others’ intentions, one is able to accurately describe Tamura Itsuji as incredibly ignorant in such regards. Of course, that’s not to say he’s an idiot; he simply needs to work harder on his social skills. And while he may strongly cherish his bonds with others, which admittedly makes him an amazingly loyal friend, it is an unfortunate fact that Tamura Itsuji does not have a particularly defined sense of self. His life is one marked with uncertainty and confusion in regards to who he is and what he is supposed to be, and during the few times where he does try and find himself, he has difficulty properly distinguishing his own wants and needs from those expected of him. That is to say, Tamura Itsuji isn’t entirely certain about what his own desires, beliefs, or even values are. In a word, Tamura Itsuji merely exists. He is still far from individuation. Incidentally, he is a fan of music and cows. After that day, Percival gained a strong admiration for the Knights of Camelot, and against his mother’s wishes he set out to join their ranks. After proving himself by besting the Red Knight in combat, Percival took on the other knight’s mantle and armor and received a seat at the Round Table. He quickly gained renown as a mighty knight, and not long after embarked upon the quest for the Holy Grail achieving everlasting fame as the knight to reach this lofty goal.
