FoC canon, the King of Jehanna is a Nord who rose from being a warchief in Hjaalmarch that came to claim his cousin's throne. I ran it a lot like GoT and Crusader Kings in the NRP. I was watching/playing a lot of both at the time.

Though, I was pulling mainly from 13th-15th century Europe, with Jehanna being a little 1000s Scandinavia, all with the court-intrigue and feuding turned up to 11 in accordance with it being filled with Bretons.
