Adrian, by the grace of his insect heritage, was primarily a dominant night time explorer. It was only when the darkness had taken away the world and stars blanketed the sky that he was free. To come and go at his pleasure and discretion for no reason beyond personal whim. There was a great deal of freedom to be gained by refusing the shackles of a 'home' so to speak. Clad in his faded red robes, wrapped up warm against the nights chill, he had wondered many times if staying at this place was shackling the spirit inside of him.. But near as the moth man could tell, he was bound to this place. Until he went to look for her again. People like himself, monsters and stuff of nightmares, were always described to be cruel. They would kill for the thrill of it and move on to the next thing they wanted without pity. Every creature was labelled that way by the unthinking or the frightened, Adrian had encountered these people in his time wandering the world. Yet his reason for continuing had changed somewhere. The radio nearby had begun to play a tune as he'd wandered by. Adrian had rarely been enthusiastic about music, but this was an exception. The lyrics had caught him. Over and over he'd told them to himself. Perched on the windowsill of someone elses home, their life hanging from every inch of their abode, he sat and listened. His mind unattached to his stomach and soul as thoughts of his friend invaded his mind. A promise to be friends, if he remembered right. Did she remember him the same way he remembered her? As the song faded away he took flight high into the sky towards the school grounds, the long red cloak flowed like a banner in his wake, long wings working to steadily bring him to his destination. There was one place on this planet they could meet again and it was here. Adrian would wait.
