Probably not that large, I was thinking more along the lines of "twelve feet long" rather than "massive fire-breathing terror of the skies"; partly so she can fit in the house and partly to explain why the existence of the supernatural is something of a secret until relatively recently. A great big dragon is a lot harder to keep the existence of under wraps.

As for talking - yes. I think I mentioned in the personality bit that she'd much prefer trying to talk through problems, rather than resorting to the "proper" dragon-y problem solving technique of trying to set whatever it was that was bothering them on fire.
