Welp, looks like she wasn't getting a break.

As soon as she heard the screech of the bird, Charlotte immediately dropped whatever she was carrying and got low to the ground behind a tree to make herself less of a target. As the flapping of wings filled the air, Charlotte held her breath, taking a small peek out from her hiding spot simply to at least get a good look at what was currently likely a large predatory bird. It was something she had never seen before. It was definitely a bird, a large one. It looked similar to the large Snow Hawks back in Astril. Was this...a more temperate cousin of its?

She wanted to know. If it was, if she could get her mitts on one she could use its feathers and other things from its body as some fairly useful tools...

But, well, living was more important for now. She had nothing to fight such a beast with, though she supposed she could always find a way to steal some eggs if it had any anywhere...
