Gregory was halfway to The Fortress of Arrogance when John asked his question. He stopped on a dime as he heard it, his momentum being dissipated by a brief balancing act upon his left foot. Turning to face John Gregory looked about the area briefly as he checked to see if John had brought a Valkinai with him, or any personal vehicle capable of combat. When Gregory found that answer to be a solid. "No." His anger bloomed. He didn't mention it, since chewing out team members was something he liked to avoid doing, but curtly spoke instead. "Yes. Ride with the VIP. Inform me if anything goes wrong." If nothing else was spoken, Gregory would once more turn to The Fortress of Arrogance and resume his original plan to take the head of the convoy. Unless he was interrupted again, a few moments later he would be standing atop The Fortress of Arrogance and waiting at the head of the convoy for the mission to begin. Why someone was dispatched without a Valkinai or other vehicle to use Gregory didn't know, but it was quite aggravating. Thankfully, Gregory could just toss John with the VIP to add even more security there, which alleviated his anger a bit. Gregory would likely have a talk with the captain later about having John given a mech or other vehicle of some capacity. Gregory needed everyone to be at their best combat capability. Allowing for gaps is what caused critical mission failures.
