[*]The final chapter was the 6th movie. There are two animated ones, Degeneration, which I have because Claire Redfield, and Damnation. Another one is set to release this year as well.

I'll be honest here, I love those movies. The problem is they're cut short to be made into blockbuster action movies when they really should be longer. The novels fix most of the plot holes the movies have. Blame Sony for that. And I really enjoyed the first three, I think they were really solid. Even the forth one had a good story going, but again, it just needed to be longer. The fifth one, I'm not so keen on though. [s]it sucked ass even if they did bring michelle back[/s].

The only reason this franchise is getting so much shit is because it's a movie adaptation of a freaking amazing game series, so automatically people will always hold it to higher standards than any other action flick out there. You don't see people hating on Xander Cage as she rides off into the sunset on a ridiculous motocross/jet ski hybrid. Or Tom Cruise's emotionless face in all the Mission Impossibles movies or Underworld's latest massive flop.
