Faction: Heaven/Army of Light/Hell Guard Personality: Zarrath is normally relaxed and sociable when he’s mingling, he’s also a teacher, passing the lessons he’s learned in his fight against the demons and training newer recruits to the Army of Light. In combat, he’s confident, calculating, relentless, and dauntless. No threat is great enough to cause him to retreat. Bio: Zarrath has been a member of the Hell Guard for millennia, though he has seen deployment as a standard member of the Army of Light. He fought at Eden with the Four Horsemen to stop the Nephilim and has engaged against the forces of Hell many times. Another notable engagement he was in was during the Third Kingdom’s early inception, fighting to keep the demons from overrunning Earth before their time, a war which lasted long before the Council interceded. About 1500 years ago in a skirmish on Earth, he had the honor, or misfortune as lesser angel’s refer to it, of crossing blades with The White Woman Of The Scottish Highlands, a demon who had been draining the blood of young travelers for centuries, a fight that left the angel with a scar across his face. After that battle, he was relegated to a more senior training position to prepare new generations of recruits for battle when the Seals were finally broken. He was there when Wrath was born and assigned to ensure that the young Nephilim knew how to fight and, other than Uriel, was the only Angel able to really put up with the then boisterous Nephilim and form a real bond with him, becoming both a mentor and a dear friend. After Wrath departed Heaven for his own reasons, he was dispatched on a patrol and encountered Gomory, whose name he learned during their fight, a Demon in the service of Mundus. The pair exchanged blows on two separate occasions and, grudgingly, earned each other’s respect for their respective skill. That encounter was 250 years ago, and they have fought twice more since, still with no clear winner. However, they have never gone out of their way to seek each other out if on the same battlefield, only crossing blades if the opportunity arises. And since the Nephilim’s return and subsequent joining with the Council, he’s been assigned a more combat active role to put him where he can help Wrath should he need it. [Combat] [hider=Powers and Abilities]Angelic Being- Being an angel, Zarrath is faster and stronger than a most mortals being, as well as being immortal, living forever unless slain in battle. Runic Aptitude- Zarrath has a natural apptitude to control, create and utilize holy runes, which he can deploy for traps, to create defensive walls and barriers, or offensive attacks, such as explosions, additional weapons with a very short life span, and extended range melee attacks. They also have utility usage such as silencing the obnoxious. Blademaster-Extensive training with the katana have allowed him to learn how to use it with both lethal efficiency and a masterful hand. Intensive Focus-After a brief period of meditation on the battlefield to focus his energy inwards, Zarrath is able to focus to the point of unleashing his most powerful attacks regardless of his stance while also gaining increased reaction speeds and movement speeds.[/hider] [hider=Styles] [i]Swordmaster[LVL1][/i]-This Style emphasizes Zarrath’s skill with his katana. He is known to open with a slash made as he unsheathes the blade, followed by rapid slashes and thrusts. Minor runes on Shadowsteel are activated and allows him to give some of his slashes an extra two meters of range with holy energy. [i]Runic Blade[LVL1][/i]-This Style uses both Zarrath’s runic prowess and blade skills to create deadly barrages of magic slashes, blades, and explosions both at range and in close quarters. Allows for all the runes etched into Shadowsteel to be activated at about half power. [i]Runic Mage[LVL1][/i]- This Style forgoes using Shadowsteel for anything more than a defense against bladed weapons in exchange for using the runic magic that is inherent to Zarrath. All the runes engraved in Shadowsteel are activated and at full power, allowing use of stronger runes, including his most powerful. [*]Blade Storm[LVL1]- A series of slashes and thrusts made so fast, dangerous after images of Shadowsteel begin to strike as well, locking an opponent in a storm of blades. [*]Arced Slash[LVL2]- A powerful vertical slash that sends out a wave of holy energy several meters, cutting anything in it’s path in two. [indent]-Level 2- Wave splinters into four smaller horizontal waves that move north south and east of the end point with the same properties.[/indent] [/list] [i]Runic Blade[/i]- [list] [*]Exploding Blade[LVL2]-This attack has two forms. One is Zarrath using a rune to create a duplicate of Shadowsteel’s blade and impale the enemy before it detonates from a second rune. The other is impaling the enemy on Shadowsteel’s true blade and causing an explosion to erupt from it. [indent]-Level 2 allows for four enemies to be impaled and blown up at once, not counting the real blade.[/indent] [*]Paralyzing Slash[LVL1]-Zarrath strikes at a foe while a single rune is glowing brightly. Should the slash connect, whether it be armor, clothing, or flesh, the opponent will find a copy of the run at the contact location and either that body part paralyzed, if the impacted area is an arm or leg, or their body paralyzed, if hit center mass. Stronger opponents are only briefly paralyzed while weaker opponents can be paralyzed for as long as indefinitely. [/list] [i]Runic Mage[/i]- [list] [*]Implosion Sphere[LVL1]-Unleashing an array of runes around, under, and above a foe before causing an implosion of holy energy, causing massive damage to whoever is trapped inside it’s 5 meter radius. [*]Cleansing Spear[LVL1]- A single rune appears beneath an enemy and after a slight delay, unleashes a spear of energy straight up, impaling and disintegrating the weakest of enemies, simply causing sever pain in the strongest. [*]Holy Rain[LVL1]-Ten runes appear in the air above the enemy and unleash three blasts of holy energy at the enemy, creating a “rain” of death. [/list] [/hider][/hider]
