Question. How do those concerned with the matter want Contests to be handled? I was planning on having it handled like in the Ruby/Sapphire games, because that's the way I know it. That way, they have the audience determine which they like the looks of the most with consideration of which contest it is in the first round, and then have them appeal to the judges in the second part using Pokémon moves. However, these moves all have effects that are determined by the stats themselves, but they typically make a lot less sense than Pokémon moves applied to battle. Like, sure, you used Quick Attack in the appeal. Nice, the audience is stunned by your speed. But, how the heck does that make you get to appeal earlier in the next round of appeals? Also, how does Mud-Slap remove the energy from other Pokémon that have already made their appeals? Yeah. That makes less sense. Also, the way excitement works also feels a bit strange, but... hah. In any case. All in all, contests are a lot weirder to try to transition into roleplay. So, I suppose I could rework them to work more like shows as they are in the real world, with Pokémon performing the talents and then people can determine who did the best appeal. Maybe I should go check how the anime did it, I kinda dropped the anime mid Gen-2. Anyways, yeah. Me second-guessing myself actually writing this post is what delayed me yesterday. Anyways, since you're the ones that would be participating (if you want to)... How would you like it handled, any who might be interested?
