(OOC) I see, so space travel is optional, I can actually hold off space travel since I haven't thought of a valid reason as to why they would even want to leave, there's a lot of land they still have to cover, and they have a moderate amount of resources so I see no reason for them to 'want' to leave, since I've tried to imagine them as more of a sentient alien species that has been misunderstood/underestimated due to their 'primitive' appearance. Their weapons and vehicles are actually quite unique in the sense that instead of making a chassis, or a frame for the engine and such, they use their bodies as the chassis and attach things to it, so expect combat walkers, or heavy lifters, (Say 8ft at most to be at least semi realistic) they are heavily industrialized, however, they still rely on manual labor, the reason for that is because in a situation where the colony needed to evacuate or defend from some sort of enemy opposition even the workers can fight, their muscular builds allow them to fight at least moderately effective in melee, their weapons platforms I haven't quite decided whether I should make bio-tech or make them smarter than they seem so that they have cybernetic prosthetic used for combat like say Battle Los Angeles Aliens as a reference, their conventional vehicles from what I imagined would be anti-grav or repulsor lift of some sort, however, I would be fine with crab type walkers or good ol' wheels and steel tracks, for a more rustic feel. The queens do have actual authority, they are not merely factories, they mitigate the command downwards through Super Majors, Majors, then warrior, etc. like an ant colony but with actual command authority, that's the main difference in an ant colony it's more of a democracy, the more the ants signal for one thing, the more follow, like a voting system. I would actually ask your opinion on this since I would really like it to fit to the world you've imagined.
