[@MissCapnCrunch][@grandia20] After a few minutes of waiting, Mouse realized something odd: their teacher was nowhere to be seen. Ms. Fall was a very disciplined woman, and, to Mouse's knowledge, had never been late for class. But Mouse decided to try to ignore it. Perhaps there was some emergency. Or maybe they had a clueless substitute today, unsure of where to go. But even as she tried to blast logic into the ears of the growing anxiety in her gut, Dick Van Dyke was singing in the back of her brain: Wind's in the east, mist comin' in. Like something is brewin' about to begin. Can't put me finger on what lies in store... Then she could've sworn she heard something in the distance. It sounded like a scream. She lifted her head to look for reactions from her classmates, but they simply continued to talk amongst themselves. She tried to tell herself it was nothing, that it was just her mind playing tricks on her, but her heart seemed to outrun her mind, beating faster than she could form thoughts. Then, suddenly, she felt a something grab her waist, pulling her backward. "AAAAEEEEEK!" She exclaimed, jumping out of the mystery person's arms, her notebook flying from her hands and landing across the hall. Her exclamation wasn't a yelp, nor a squeal, but a full on scream, one that caused the students around her to pause and look at her, before returning to their chatter. Mouse settled down, however, when she saw that it was only Chi, one of Mouse's other friends that she shared English with. And just like that, all the anxiety she was feeling moments before was gone. Angst was like a balloon in that regard. No matter how full it gets, all it takes is a sudden jab with a needle to make it all go away. "Jesus Chi, you startled me." she said, catching her breath. You look bummed," Chi said, "What's up Mini Mousey?" "Oh, nothing important...It's just Kyy-" she began, but was almost immediately cut off by the familiar voice of the very same person she was about to complain about yelling her name through the halls. A few seconds later, he came into view. "Kyy?! What's wrong? What's happening?"
