The Baridi Arctic warriors

The people of Baridi are a proud and hardy race of people. Living in the harsh lands of Ezekiel's where snow and ice are a daily thing, they have adapted to these harsh lands thriving on the lands and the creatures that live there. For the Baridi living with the land is the most important part of their daily lives believing that living with nature and as a result are highly religious.

The Baridi are humanoid in shape and size however they posses a unique circulatory system and bone structure that means that their bodies are able to generate heat in order to survive in the cold environment of Ezekiel’s tundra mountain areas. When they must venture out into warmer areas of Ezekiel they must wear special cryo suits in order to avoid overheating. Baridi’s have dense bones which are artificially reinforced once they pass their initiation. This process involves injecting Carbyne into a Baridi’s bone structure strengthening them. As well as this the Baridi have a set of horns the grow from their forehead. These horns are used during their one year initiation ceremony but grow naturally on their bodies.

The Baridi are natural miners and most of their cities and technological marvels are thanks to the rare ores that they mine. Carbyne was discovered and then developed to make the majority of Baridi’s buildings and armour.

Baridi’s culture is all about living off and with the land with many of their cavalry being creatures that they have domesticated for use with manual labour, cavalry and traveling to and from their cities. Most Baridi are thrust out into the wastelands to fend for themselves once they reach maturity, this is known as the initiation all Baridi must go through this process in order to be considered adults. They may return to the city after a year of living in the harsh wasteland using nothing but weapons they fashion themselves

Baridi technology has a slight primitive tone to the way they build things such as weaponry and transport for their troops. They use a mixture of the unique minerals they mine and their ability to use the thermal energy they generate from their cities. 

Thermal Power is an intrinsic part of most of the Baridi’s cities that are mainly built underground inside mountain side. These cities use mainly thermal generator to generate their power which is than shipped to other cities that can generate power as quickly as other cities. 

The main source of all of Baridi’s technological marvels is the creation of Carbyne which is an artificial metal fourty times tougher than diamond as well as the unique crystals that grow in the mines. It is extremely conductive and when powered glows,  if enough charge is placed through the crystal it causes the air to heat up creating plasma. This marvel allowed the Baridi to reach new technological heights.

Baridi weaponry uses a mixture of plasma and the unique material created called carbyne which is both extremely tough and light.
