Name: Thompson Hunter Age: 12 Species: Human Gender: Male Personality: Despite his young age Thompson is first and foremost a curious, scholarly type. He's learned a lot from the books he had as company while being secluded away by his family, but is in other ways rather naive, especially when it comes to social situations. He's fairly confident about his ability to handle dangerous situations, having been trained by an Arc Academy member from a very young age, though he might actually be too confident considering he has little formal experience with serious battle situations. Other than any of that, his primary reaction to just about anything is to be one-hundred percent thrilled that he's finally able to get out and experience a world he's only read about prior to this, including the possibility of making real friends out of it, especially if it inspires him to write. Appearance:

Level: Level 1 Abilities: Thompson has excellent academic knowledge of a surprisingly wide range of subjects both common and esoteric, a knowledge of the Academy that's about as good as any civilian can hope to get without proper clearance, and a near photographic memory. On the more physical side of things, Thompson is not ridiculously strong for his age in terms of physical brawn, but is extremely fast, agile and capable of pinpoint precision and accuracy. He's trained mainly in martial arts that focus on precise pressure point strikes and joint manipulation to control and disable enemies to take advantage of these gifts. Despite being taught by an Arc Academy member, he has no real knowledge of qi as he was forbidden to be taught its use. When he does discover it, his strongest elements will be an equal balance of water and metal. Equipment: Thompson's main weapon are emei piercers also known as Judge's Pens, a type of precision stabbing and slicing dagger mounted on rings slid over the fingers to enable them to rotate and spin even when the fingers aren't holding them. Academy Role: Associate, Background: Thompson Hunter is the only heir to the world-spanning Hunter Unlimited Network and Trading Company, or HUNT Co. Due to his father's paranoia, he's been raised in isolation mainly in his father's compound until recently, with only the biggest library of books money could buy for company once his father found that reading was able to quell his complaints about his restricted life. His father also insisted that he be trained to be as capable as possible in every respect, and to that end, he hired a graduate of the Arc Academy to serve as his son's bodyguard and tutor in both academic and physical subjects including martial arts. Recently however, both he and his father have decided that it would be good for him to take the Arc Academy entrance exam. His father thinks it would be useful to have a son with access to the reputation and resources given to an Arc Academy member or graduate. On the other hand, Thompson wants to use both in order to travel the world to gain inspiration to write books of his own and become a celebrated author. Extra: The Hunter Unlimited Network and Trading Co. are a General Trading Company with various interests across the globe, involved in manufacturing, shipping and promoting all sorts of products both high and low-tech. Despite being the heir to this company, part of the agreement involving Thompson taking the test is that he not have access to the family's money except with approval from the Academy, as he's expected to make his own way.
putting my primary character here for safekeeping, omitted future power developments until we finalize the system. Decided to tweak an idea I had in order to provide a character who would be useful for exposition while also being a flawed non-traditional GMPC and also taking the test alongside the other PCs, in addition to any Mentor-type characters I may NPC. Am also as always available for questioning.
