How much time are we thinking has passed?  I imagine someone knocked the bridge down, as it would have to be exceptionally old and in disrepair to fall down all by its lonesome.  That's a good questions too, who would do such a thing?  Who benefits?  

I love the idea of keeping the others alive in this story, even cameoing them from time to time.  The entire thing has such potential.  I'm working on coding my CS now, to add it to the page!
