Caterina and Gordo

Gordo had retreated to his hut, the small place was rather....well, open. There was a work bench, that held many items used to build things, to experiment with, with a book case there, filled with books, and Gordo glanced about, curiously, stepping about the place carefully, he examined everything, before starting back outside, hands in his pockets, he thought for a moment, wondering what he could do now. So far approaching others hadn't seemed to work for him. He sighed, starting towards some trees to examine them. The young man was trying to figure out just what was going on here, to find his feet again, when the scroll was dropped to him, and he looked up at the bird, before examining the scroll. Caterina looked around as she walked away from the duo. Who was this 'Gordo'? He wasn't famous - or if he was, he wasn't famous enough for her social circles. The air shimmered around her - and though Caterina prepared for the worst - all that happened was a path forming at her feet, leading towards the treeline and a man. Her heels really weren't made for walking through the forest. Still, the man was probably Gordo, with the way things seemed to work around here. She sauntered over to him, assessing him as she approached. Not an actor or model, but he wasn't bad looking. In a suit, he would be quite presentable. She stopped before him, hand propped on a hip. "You must be Gordo." Gordo rose from where he was crouched, studying the woman. She was pretty, there wasn't a doubt about that, but there was just something about her...or more accurately, the way she was looking at him. Like a slab of meat. He took a moment to respond to her, something in him seeming to want to rise to his own defense nevermind the fact he hadn't done anything wrong. He reached up to push his glasses more securely to his nose, his brown hair mussed by the wind. At his full height, Gordo found himself slouching, hands in his pockets as he studied the girl, much as she was studying him. "I am, why?" He asked, managing to keep his voice steady. Caterina gave him a coy smile. It had never failed to win a man's attention before. She had no reason to believe it would fail her now. "Well, the ladies have been given a the task to pick someone to accompany us to the ball tonight. And you are one of my choices." She took a step closer to him, and lay a hand on his arm. She lowered her voice to a purr. "I'm Caterina Versini. Rina, to my friends. I hope we can become good friends." Gordo rocked back on his heels slightly, "One of your choices? But you don't even know me" He said, frowning slightly, as he watched Caterina, a little taken aback at her forwardness. No girl had ever been so forward to him before, and he had to wonder why. "I'm sure we can become good friends" he said, watching her, trying to figure her out. "Rina." "What's there to know? You're cute, I'm gorgeous, we'll be the talk of everyone." What didn't he get? She examined him a moment, then a grin spread across her lips. Did he not have experience with women? How cute! She could be his teacher. "See, my name sounds cute when you say it like that. We'll be great friends." Cute? He was sure now he was the butt of some joke, and he shifted slightly, frowning at Caterina. "there's more to people then their looks you know" he said softly, watching her. Was she actually coming on to him? He had no idea, nothing really to base this on. "Not when you're one of the State's leading fashion models." The grin fell from her lips, to be replaced by a polite smile. Was he actually going to turn her down? Impossible. She was Caterina Versini. Any man would beg to have her. Time to switch to a different tactic. "We only have two choices. My other choice is my ex - and I just can't go to the ball with him. And I'd die if I have to go alone. I don't go to events alone." Gordo frowned "I don't really follow fashion" he said apologetically. He didn't really follow anyone famous actually. The girl seemed upset at that, and Gordo shrugged his shoulders. And then she decided to play on his sympathy, on the woman in distress card and Gordo sighed. He was old fashioned. He just couldn't resist that, and he glanced away from her "Alright! Alright I'll go with you" "Perfect. You can come to my home and pick me up before the ball. Make sure you dress smartly. A suit at least, but a tuxedo would be better." She leaned in and kissed his cheek. "You won't be disappointed." Without letting him get another word in, Caterina sashayed off. Befuddled, Gordo watched her go. He had to wear a tux? He didn't even know how to tie a tie. Shaking his head, he headed towards his hut, reaching up to lay a hand on his cheek, before he opened the door.
