Hello! Aristo and I welcome you to this IntCheck, in which we’ve presented several roleplay concepts for you to browse through. Work has gone into the settings of each, but they all sound like a lot of fun to GM, and we hope you think so too. In fact, we haven’t been able to agree on which to run! So in the spirit of democracy, and the unwillingness to give up on a single idea, we’re giving you the choice of which roleplay we ought to run. Whichever one gathers the most interest will be the one we will focus on and launch an OOC for. Each of these concepts has been undergone preliminary world-building and given established backgrounds, to be expanded upon in the event that one is chosen. A brief taste of our concepts is provided below, with a more detailed sample towards the bottom, as befitting a typical interest check. Here are your choices in simple form: A: A fantasy realm political simulation (very intricate and detailed). Players will control individual senators, nobles and other significant figures as they participate in the political process of one newly crafted nation. There will be a detailed Constitution, Bill of Rights, and other documentation, written for and by for these characters with player collaboration, to abide by (or neglect) as they see fit and even amend. The role of the GM will be to create national and international events for these senators to react to, with allowance for players to pursue their own methods and ambitions. Anything can happen, from a Julius Caesar-esque takeover of the military, to a change in government structure, to a religious reformation. B: A swords & sorcery-style fantasy adventure. Imagine Howard’s tales of Conan the Barbarian in the Hyborian Age, or Moorcock’s Eternal Champion multiverse: Elric, Corum and Hawkmoon. This is a story of heroic individuals, in a world of burly muscle and loincloths, where magic and blade abound. The scope of this concept is centered on a few key heroes, rather than the politics of nations, but features a highly-detailed world to explore and interact with. The plot of the story will be expanded on below, but as an overview, our characters will traverse lands unknown and face ancient dangers with the aim of defeating a pervasive evil, caught in a cycle of rebirth and reconquest. C: If you like Lovecraft then no doubt you know “The Colour Out of Space”, But what if the colour meteor struck the center of a fictitious continent during a 1789-analogous era? The corruption of this extraplanar entity slowly spreads from nation to nation, urging players to react before it’s too late. Lovecraftian horror and aliens meet the 18th century as the squabbling of nations is interrupted by a cosmic alien horror, forcing kingdoms into a choice between sink or swim: petty rivalries must be set aside, or the continent will surely descend into madness! Playstyle will follow conventional nation RP logistics, with players creating and roleplaying nations caught in this turbulent time. Detailed Concept Background & Info:
“We didn’t stand a chance as the armies of the Empire marched from the East. We, with our fractured towns and tribes, linked only by some semblance of culture and the liquid power of religion and nobility. As they impaled us on pikes and drowned us in shot, we were forced to invoke the sacred rite of council, and so all our chieftains banded together to develop a strategy to defeat the enemy. However, our household armies and warbands offered little sport for the Imperial war machine. The war left us bloodied and our resolve threatened to break, but from the coast of the West hope came. We saw the purple and red flag of Jerrovia stand proud in the wind, and most of us in our council saw this as our saving grace. We petitioned quickly for their aide in the war, and after signing ourselves over to that flag, they generously they gave it to us. With their direction, we won the war, but we will never be the same. The Empire’s arm has been broken, but it continues to reach, and we must ensure its doom never befalls us again. It is time for us to look forward to the birth of a new, stronger government: the tenets and tradition of our native council, married to the guiding hand of Jerrvoia... But not every chieftain agreed to this new council, and dissent threatens to keep us divided. Our authority may undermined before it gains any true momentum by potential coups and civil war. It is up to us to act quickly to establish our new government, and assert our authority over our budding nation, for peace and for unity!” Constitution of the Tropic Nation of Filimena ...Thus the Nation of Filimena will remain in the hands of her natives to govern, under Imperial discretion. The Nation of Filimena will uphold an Imperial senate, under the eye of an appointed magistrate from the glorious provinces of Jerrovia. The magistrate will not vote, but uphold the Imperial ways over the Senate, and bring fairness to Filimena’s people, despite rank or status. Native nobles will be brought in as senators as is tradition. Tribunes will be elected from the people and natives of the land, as is the influence of the Emperor’s trust in the people. Religious officials will be picked from their churches to be brought as senators. Local military generals will be brought in as senators. An aide will be hired from a pool of the natives most honest and elegible to help spread justice by the Imperial seat. All senators will hold one vote, and the holder of the Imperial seat and Aides, will hold none, unless in the case of the tie, then the Imperial seat may vote to break, or in the case of specific topics stated below, then will certain senators be allowed two votes. The council will convene whenever necessary, and will discuss all topics of the realm, and will initiate and join together in votes to progress the nation of Filimena in harmony. -- So declared, our Emperor George “Iron Will” Heinrich, Lord of all Jerrovia, Lord of the Eastern Colonies, Hero of the North, Hero of the Imperial Province, Champion of Sosolam, Champion of the Winter, Conqueror of the Dweller, Overseer of Filimena The entirety of the details

A decade ago, the greatest hero in the land of fuckedifiknewthename had sent out to vanquish a great sorcerer, bent on sundering the earth and bringing hell upon the lands to assert his dominion. The journey was long and hard, but at the final moment, as the vanguard of the undead hellish army consolidated, the hero struck true, and destroyed the great wizard. While the wizard died on the hero's sword, his soul was not defeated, and instead turned into an opaque ball of black stone. Scared of the return of the wizard, the hero struck the stone into his own forehead, knowing that only his perfect will could keep the soul in check. After this the hero disappeared, and yet now, as ten years have passed since that day, demons not unlike those of the great wizard have reappeared to sack villages and terrorize the countryside, and the lights of the long dead spire of the wizard have been relit. Heros of all the lands are being called to quell this danger before it erupts anew, and possibly stronger than before. You will journey across crazy landscapes of fantastical proportion as you best the ancient traps set before you on your quest to slay the evil that resides in the spire. (Plot subject to change to make it less generic.)

In a land of thunderous cannon fire and pounding hooves, where the nobles sip tea dressed with cubes of sugar and the peasantry plot around moving print, where military uniform rivals parade dress, and the sword is not met without a pistol, the sky opened up. A beam of light so bright, that it blinded all onlookers shot unto the ground, and following its strike was a molten ball of rock and flame. The ball collided with the ground and the light fractured in a blast of color indescribable, so much so that it drove all onlookers insane. The crash dissolved the mighty nation that sat in the middle of our glorious continent of powder and posh, and left a barren wasteland in its wake. What had survived the collision was soon turned to dust. Water spoiled, animals starved, plants crumbled at the touch, even milking cows gave only sludge, and dogs and human alike were driven to madness. Slowly this color ate the land, turning it rotten, and slowly spreading outwards from the epicenter. Now as the plague of the stars threatens to spread past the borders of the destroyed nation, you are all that stands in its way of your own home. A single rider escaped the destruction of the center nation, will you heed her warning? “Color so deadly, it was never made into crayons.” - Aristo
Please let us know your thoughts!
