Ok, I'm second guessing my plan to wait until Terminal informs me, because I don't want to risk someone doing something stupid.
[@mdk], yours is the character most able to deal with this situation. (Not saying others can't too, just that mdk's character is the one who can understand what is happening to some extent, and thus has the information to formulate a response.) No matter who wants to try though, the clue is the lightning sphere and the lightning rod. Read the description of what the metal stuff is very carefully, then use logic to try and determine an appropriate response based on that information, and why in preparation for this attack someone decided to use something to attract the lightning away from said attack.
And like I said, mdk is the person most able to figure this out in character, so I'd recommend he takes care of this. And I do hope his logic comes up with the right answer, because I'm only able to figure out the equation to the solution, not the solution itself...
