I will inform you of what he sees once he starts using ethereal sight again. From the glimpse he caught of their predecessor selves from inside the limousine, they and their weapons appear to be entirely mundane and nonmagical.

Perhaps, if you look back at the rules, you might figure out how I would react to such a ploy? It seems like a reasonable branch of experimentation.
