Is this happening in NY City proper? Because our survival probability would be near 0 and my character's first priority is to GTFO and away from civilization as fast as possible. So with a 6mo head start I would either be dead or miles from the city.

They'd still probably roam far outside city limits, especially after 6months they'd get attracted by sounds from everywhere. Not to mention you have less chance of finding food and water there and the hike alone would require even more food.

True, it's a tough call. I guess part of the adventure is trying to live in a constant hostile environment and keeping a sliver of hope that there is someplace safe somewhere out there.

After the virus made its way through the city and infected most of the population a majority of the infected would be pursuing refugees that are trying to escape. They wouldn't stop, as long as there are more people to infect and kill they are going to keep moving in that direction. The highways leading to other major population centres would have been gridlocked and most of the infected would have simply moved along those to find new food and survivors. There will still be a lot of infected in the city, but nowhere near the amount there would be if they all stayed.

Nina is still in the city, not sure how she will make it out alone but she may use a board or something to travel across the close buildings until she is forced to get down. At which point I may end up getting her into some trouble if anyone wishes to have their character happen to be near her when this happens to help her out let me know so I can work something together.

Yup, that's why I decided to take an axe as a weapon. Even then, a head would take a few hits, maybe two for someone who's used to swinging one. I don't think any weapon would be easy to use in a zombie apocalypse, but after a while you'd develop needed strength for the weapon you have.

Good idea, I'm up for anything. I'd rather stumble on someone that just write my character alone for a long while.

i dont have any concrete plans other than getting out of the city, which if i started in the heart of the city it could have taken me 6 months to move a few miles. Other than that im down for meeting whoever.

We can probably reason that someone would have the possibility of seeing Nina on the rooftops crossing gaps with a board almost to big for her to carry like some sort of strange (deadly) balancing act. :P

its not a bad tactic if you need to use it, i think i would try to be moving through service tunnels beneath the buildings though. less chance of falling to my death, and would probably have few zombies or at least fewer than street level.

actually thats a terrible idea, esp for fast zombies... maybe impromptu catwalks are better... honestly i have no idea how i would have survived for months.
