@Cyclone You can assume that anything I say in the OOC or discord off-topic should never be taken seriously :P I feel like editing your post now would be metagaming... I probably should've waited to tell you until afterwards, sorry about that. Couldn't help myself!
Also about goblins escaping to the swamp: brilliant idea! Why didn't I think of that? Turn 8 will be fun to write!

@Pyromaniacwolf Oh. Alright, no sweat. Nothing much really happens on introposts, so your turn 1 will actually be turn 8, but I'll take your efforts into account.

Ah well. Looks like this will be a tragic miscommunication that probably results in the goblins being enslaved.

I guess that's fitting since the Iceborn aren't very nice. I mention them killing off entire tribes in the first post, so if anything I've probably had them act too friendly thus far.

I fear this NRP has a distinct lack of Dwarves. I would like to be put on the list please.

@Chenzor

Just to help clear up the idea; When I picture my goblins, I'm more inclined to see the Warcraft version of them (before they figured out capitalism and technology) then the Warhammer version. So yeah, there will be male and female goblins.

@Cyclone I think the way you've acted have been in line with the way you play your civ, and that's what matters! Dag being friendly to the goblins in a mine they made and/or claimed would probably go against his character. At least, in my opinion.

@Lady Selune And blood, it seems. We'll see how this ends, poor Aurilius. Foreshadowing...

@Dannyrulx You got it, govna.

@Bright_Ops Gotcha! I figured that's what you were going for, thanks for the clarification!

@Kangutso Finally got around to fixing that mysterious iron :P

Now I'm just waiting for a few more posts and we can hop right on over to turn 8!

Edit: @Pyromaniacwolf and @Cyclone it seems you both come from a similar land before settling here. Perhaps you came from the same home? Perhaps lycans are actually skraelings? :^)
Jokes aside, I see potential here, if you two want to explore anything like that.

Probably should have had him just bellow, "WAAAAARGH!" and run down there at the head of his boyz.

But they most certainly are skraelings! Basically everyone would be called that if the Iceborn encountered them. Ogres and orcs might look different enough to be called something else.

It makes sense the the Lycans lived somewhere near the Fatherland and that they may have itneracted at some point. Dag comments that they did pass several other lands on their way to this place, but that they didn't see any signs of civilization.
The tales of our ancestors spoke of some other lands, but we found them dead and just as frozen as our own. So we could only sail past them, farther south, following the warmth.
My first post

@Pyromaniacwolf We can figure something out soon if you like. The Lycan territory is definitely within range of interaction.

@Cyclone Sounds like a fun idea, maybe your people found the lycans home and considered settling. Then they saw the neighbours so they decided against it.

I still find it funny that The Children of Artemon lost 13 people to the orcs and then panicked, removed a good leader from power and proceeded to run like little bitches as far away as possible without a further fight. For followers of a god of craftsmenship, they really have no faith in their own creations...

When a mindless force of unknown proportions comes around, destroys your defences and kills 7% of your adult population, none of whom were really cut out for combat or interested in waging war to begin with, I think flight is fairly reasonable.

@Pirate

Honestly, I feel like the flaw in your elves defense plan was that you played to the Orcs strengths in actually engaging them in battle rather then playing to your own as worshipers of a god of craftsmen.

For example, two https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheval_de_frise along the river where you had planned your ambush would have been more then enough to help funnel the orcs into a killing zone for your archers... if you wanted to be really clever you could have added another one under the water of the river itself and given the first bunch of orcs into the water something fun to run smack dab into.

Fair points and I agree that something like that would have been a good approach, but the problem as a whole is that the settlement was barely developed or organised yet and the defence as a whole was haphazard and very short notice (and frankly the OOC planning of the battle wasn't handled very well either, but let's not get into that). I'm not sure the pre-knowledge of the enemy's movements, the organisational ability, time and resources were really there to make an elaborate defence. But maybe I'm just making excuses for my lack of creativity.

This does make me wonder if the cult includes war time engineers/sappers though, I hadn't really considered that.

From the sounds of it they don't, if for no other reason then because your god sounds more like a merchant craftsmen god then a warrior blacksmith one... through I wouldn't be surprised if after what happened at Celebrimber during the battle and the exodus that was thrown together in more or less a blind panic afterwards if there was a schism in the cult; Angry people who refuse to let such a thing happen again who desire a more warlike approach to life.

Turn 8 is live.

Also, I've been sick for about two weeks straight and my cold have now hopped down to my lungs, of which I'll get a checkup for tomorrow. Shouldn't be a giant issue but if I'm slow and/or some of the text seems lazy or is missing things, that's why. Just lemme know as usual if I missed antyhing and I'll fix.

Quick question: You said that newer civs got to have a few more actions per turn in order to help catch up. How many actions do we have?

Agreed with Selune, that turn rolled out pretty fast. Good work!

Still haven't heard of what happened with Sverker's meadery or the mead hall that they started working on 2 turns ago. I took just the diplomatic action last turn because I figured that those two things were still ongoing.
