If you take a look on the first-page list of spots it should clarify a bit more. Emma's list is more story wise and just included Dashiell who's technically first born in the story. Since few know about him though Nik is "first-born." aka first heir. The list on the first page is based on character spots if I'm not wrong so 4th born should be open it's just that Mag is technically 4th if you add in Dashiell but since he's "disowned" he doesn't count in the ranks.
