[@shylarah] I will note, that in that particular story I did not get the impression that the character was invulnerable because of his gear, but more that the author would never allow him to fail his quest and by that he was invulnerable, all the gear was just in-story in-the-story reasons to explain the invulnerability. Which, of course, completely failed at the end. So, it completed that goal through the way of being a character like that rather than by gear.

That's how I interpreted it, anyway. Terminal might have interpreted it differently. I don't know. Oh, well.
