I am still kinda plot pointing her Backstory so I don't have anything solid as of yet; so help would be amazingly appreciated. 

And I had read that but I was thinking of having her be vehemently convinced that Level One casts are very much possibly. It would go into further depth in her Personality but she is very strong willed and strives, painfully, to be the best at everything she puts her mind to. So she can't accept that level two casts are the end of the road, so to speak. She even believes there are powerful casts even beyond the theoretical Level One Cast. She doesn't believe there is a ceiling to alchemic potential; though she understands the risks of such a notion and knows she is yet to be capable of such things, but it doesn't deter her from believing that it is an eventual possibility.

This is why her Alch-Spec was chosen. Because of it's extreme physical strain on her body she is forcing it to adapt and strengthen at an accelerated rate; trial by fire unto herself, if you will.

EDIT: Also, the reason she is unlinked is because the physical strain she puts herself under through her Alchemy is often too much for others to handle. This being a rare case of the possibility of being Linked but A.M.R.O. has declared it unnecessary and ill-advised for those considering linking with her.
