Derrick jumped back in surprise at the spectacle. He'd ditched the plate shard in favour of the short spear given to him by Kenza but even a proper weapon was small comfort for the statue's strange behaviour. He was suspicious of the statue from the start and had joined Kenza when she began investigating it, but now he wasn't sure it had been a good idea.

Derrick watched nervously for a moment as the blue light-thing dragged the pieces of the broken statue towards itself. It was like nothing he'd ever seen before, and he had no idea what it was doing.
"Kenza?" Derrick asked nervously. "What's going on?"
