As [@Lauder] said, Emory is moving the house "as we speak", the hour he gave for everyone to get ready is the preparation time for the house to make the jump from the UK to the USA. Once the Dormum reaches the US, the trips between Texas and California will be pretty much instantaneous. After that the House will need to return to Lundy to recharge. So while the Regulators are stateside, the House will return to the UK for a little RnR from the Caretaker so it's ready for the gang when they want to come home.
