so are my ideas on the unified china and australia allowed?

There's nothing saying no, mate. I'd say go for it- I just don't think it'd make any sense. China's growing more powerful, and I couldn't see a growing sect of Christianity overthrowing the government, before the government kills 'em all or otherwise subdues them.

And very few nations would willingly merge with another, simply because it might buy them a bit more prominence or somesuch. There's a lotta countries nowadays that would benefit from joining a greater whole- and yet some are growing even more withdrawn.

You do you, man, and the OP didn't say anything about it and the GM didn't say anything about, but I don't think it makes sense.

I meant china explicitly targeting australia and them going peacefully to save lives, also the reason you don't see the christian sect in china is because if you did they'd be getting executed in secret because china wants to show that their three churches represent christianity in their country

Also, who's accepted and who's not? The roleplay is labelled 'Apply,' so when we post that little CS thing, we need some confirmation, yeah?

I am a tad confused. Do we issue orders on our first post? Do we make multiple choices a turn, or only one?

@Asura
That's the thing, though- this is an Advanced-level Jump-In-style Nation Roleplay with a not-required CS that's half of any other NRP CS I've ever seen, with a game mechanic that isn't even used by the OP.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@OfWindAndRain It's good, but holy shit you have done way too much. There's about 5000 people on the first ship to satisfy the 5000-50,000 rule of genetics, and you've dismantled a massive ship, gone straight Donald Trump, laid concrete foundations and started a strip mine?!

@Lady Selune
Diggin machines were used to make holes, and one big hole. Given the technoboost of twenty to thirty years, plus the investment they'd receive by being used for a first colony, they'd be notably more efficient than modern day excavators and the like. I've used an excavator; the fusion reactor chamber isn't that big (certainly not an entire control center there), and an excavator can dig rather quickly when working around the clock. Concrete is also not that hard, especially when on flat ground without anything in the way.

That being said, I do agree I did it too fast, but I didn't know I had that many people. You skimped on a lotta details, and you've only been confusing with even simple questions/replies. I'm winging it because I have no bloody clue of the specifics.

A'course, if every posting cycle is a year, then I can take away specific timestamps. By the first posting cycle, all of our colonies would be very definitely finished, and then some.

Also, that's not Donald Trump.

(and saying that they're starting on a strip mine is much different than actually having one completed)

I threw in about 4x the time for that settling.

I am assuming since its Jump-In I am already good to go? Also how many colonists/resources/other things do we have to start with?

Yup, and you get 5000 colonists, and enough resources for your first settlement.

@Lady Selune Hi! I wanted to make a Private Company colony and it appears I best explain my idea to see if you're okay with it.

So the basic premise of the colony would be that it's a private company that's been raised up with the promise of finding either a habitable world or, if the world traveled to is deemed ill-suited for full-scale colonization, to strip-mine it of valuable resources to send back. Due to the market, costs of building full-scale colonies and other factors, the corporate top would mostly prefer to find ill-suited planets. Which brings us to my colony faction (Atlantis Inc - Expedition Alpha). Expeditions from Atlantis generally consist of a load of scientists with a few bodyguards to protect them from hostile alien life. Along with quite a bit of food and other equipment to set up a self-sustainable base. Generally, once the base is established enough data had been gathered to let the boys back at earth decide whether or not the planet is deemed hospitable enough. However, corporate sort of rigged the game. Only the scientists didn't know that (the engineers and guards did and do). So once in space, the scientists got a new mission briefing. Which basically said: make sure your tests are done in such a way that the planet is deemed inhospitable so we can start digging deep. The plan does expand beyond the scientists (guards, when landed, are tasked to start destroying alien nests and such).

My idea would be that my first colony ship has the following resources:
Military: Low in number, averagely equipped.
Scientists: High in number.
Engineers: Average in number.
(Total population: average)

(Small question here, are robots a thing already when we land or must they be build up first?)

Edible supplies: Average surplus. None-renewable (Farms are generally part of phase 2)
Processed resources: Average surplus. Enough to built the first city and plenty for the scientists' their labs.
Raw resources: Very little. Engineers are expected to get factories and harvesters up and running as soon as they arrive.

Aid: Generally a combination of processed resources & edible supplies in phase 1. Once phase 2 commences most scientists will return (and silenced by corporate) and a steady flow of engineers should be added to the aid package.

Tell me what you think!

@Legion02 Robots are not already with you, because that would be slightly OP. There's also no distinction between different professions, other than 'civilian' and soldiers. If you'd like, I can start you off with a slightly larger military than normal.

Lastly, nobody straight wants to ruin Gaia. Exploit it, sure, but not ruin it- Earth is fucked to shit, and Gaia is the most hospitable planet they've found.

@Lady Selune Ah, in that case, I can probably roll with some corporate greed if you don't mind. Obviously, as you said yourself, they wouldn't immediately start destroying Gaia. Maybe first try to create some more sustainable regions until they realize Gaia got plenty of natural resources (as it probably hadn't been mined by any indigenousness population).

Also, I'll take the slightly larger military. Gonna start working on the NS now.

Hey, I didn't say you can't straight napalm everything, that's the plans of most people because some of the native fauna is hella scary, you just can't nuke everything.
