@Madrigal

That's certainly a good point, and having any sort of two-way is a good thing. If it certainly helps clear up any probable inconsistencies before it can begin.

Though the thing with North America could be argued that unlike the over-land Asia-Europe route there's more choices than the obligatory over-land San Diego (Or Las Angeles) to New York trade route to march over the American central prarie to move goods, and especially for nations on the south or in Mexico it'd be a far less laborious task for them to move their goods to any major coastal city to load onto a ship and sail them to any eastern port. In the case of Mormon territory traders could arguably skip out on the overland route through Khanate territory and head to the Rio Grande. They may not be able to boat the entire Rio, but could at the least follow it as an informal road to Rio Grande City where it can be offloaded there and shipped large-scale to Brownsville before spreading out from the Gulf to ports at New Orleans, Tampa or Miami, or anywhere along the East Coast.

It might be useful for northern west-coast traders from Oregon who might be obliged to follow the old Oregon Trail.
