“Mister Stanford?” The droid sounded somewhat displeased, plates on his head shifting, before he chuckled. “My dear, although I am a robot, my personality and knowledge is that of a human, and as such, I would like to be referred to as Doctor Stanford, if you will." He said, staring at the multitude of displays around him. He took the time to process the information, and log everything Ash had said. "Hm. Odd." He noted as Ash went on to go on a rather long introduction, claiming that her name was in fact 'Seriney Farwind' (according to phonetic speech patterns), and that she was the 'fourth child of King Lanner and Queen Alaysha Farwynd, the current rulers of the realm of Itervia in the land of Almerinte'. She continued, stating that she had gone to sleep the previous night and woken up on the Interloper. She showed signs of increasing distress as she went on to say that she was waiting for the 'Alumnallen delegation led by Princess Phillipa and Prince Frederick Forrester are due to arrive by midday'. "Logged." Stanford bluntly stated as the robotic appendages disappeared, but the hologram remained in the air. During this time, he quickly sent a non-vocalised notification to the squad's commander. 'Sergeant Weller, please report to the infirmary ASAP. "Arrived? Pray tell, where exactly...are we? This is unlike anything that I have ever seen in my life before." Ash suddenly said, staring out the infirmary's single window in awe at the planet down below. A single plate on Stanford's head rose, the equivalent of a raised eyebrow, before nodding. "Ah, yes. Novus. Terrestrial planet discovered in the late twenty-first century, colonised in the twenty-seventh. Located more than three thousand lightyears from Earth. Star system: Atria. Population: five-point-four billion. Capital city: Serenade. Main industry: asteroid mining and tourism." He helpfully explained. Despite there being well over eight-hundred thousand colony planets and nine hundred billion humans under the United Earth Government's rule, Novus was commonly seen as the shining green jewel of the colonies, its continents dotted with lush forests, rolling hills, and tall mountains. It was an Earth-like planet, meaning that there was no need for terraforming, and humanity hastily colonised it. Now, more than two-hundred years after settling, massive cities with skyscrapers kilometres-tall were scattered all around the planet. Stanford finished his report as the hologram disappeared. "I believe we are finished here, Miss Ashley. Your physical health is in an acceptable state, and we can remove your bandage now." A robotic arm rose from the ground and swiftly removed the bandage wrapped around Ash's torso. "Yes. Your wound has fully recovered. You are free to go. Please, follow the signs to the mess hall. I believe the rest of your squad is waiting for you." The medical droid helped her up and ushered her out of the room. Just a few seconds later, the doors opened and an older man walked in. He was in his forties, at least, and seemed to be a grizzled veteran. "You called?" He asked, leaning on one of the unoccupied beds. "Ah, Sergeant Weller. I'm glad your here." Stanford said, before projecting a holographic image in front of him. "While Private Ashley's physical state is perfectly acceptable, there is a fascinating problem with her mental state." Sergeant Matthew Weller frowned. "And that would be?" "Her personality appears to have been completely overridden by a secondary personality identifying itself as 'Seriney Farwind'. It appears that this personality does not recognise any of the things on the ship. I advise caution; she may get disorientated easily. I don't know how long this will last." "Is she fit for combat?" "Well, yes. But I-" "Then she's fine." Stanford would've looked astounded if he had a face. "What? Sergeant, Miss Ashley retains no memories of her original personality. This may be a problem." Weller folded his arms. "She's fine. I've known her long enough to know that she'll snap out of it. She's a strong girl." "But Sergeant-" "Do not argue with me, droid." The medical droid stammered, before nodding. "My apologies." He said, the projection vanishing. "Good day, sir." ---------------------- "Please... stop... hugging me." Ash breathed, attempting to get the toddler to stop hugging her torso. Okay, seriously, what the hell was going on? First she wakes up in some weird place, then she meets some guy claiming to be her husband and now she was getting hugged by some kid who was supposed to be her son. Ash was pretty sure she hit her crazy limit for today. She was proven wrong when someone coughed at the door. Ash looked up to see some guy with a shaved head and blue eyes standing there. The kid seemed to be frightened, as he hid behind her. Even Clarrik seemed disturbed, straightening up. Ash felt no different, however, though she did feel like she was in the presence of a superior officer, and she fought the urge to instinctively salute. "Prince Clarrik. Lady Weystermont informed me that my sister was feeling unwell." He said in a dull monotone. "I am here to administer the necessary procedures. I ask that you leave the chamber, once you have a chance to... dress yourself." "Oh, finally." Ash said. "Someone who can helpfully explain to me what the fuck is going on." She noticed that Clarrik had put on some clothes and scooped the kid from his hiding place and left the room, but not before he gave her a meaningful look, almost warning her not to say anything stupid. For some reason, a pit of fear began to form in her stomach. "Shall we begin?" The man asked, walking over to the bed and pulling the hangings aside. Ash just stood there, dumbfounded. "Uh, what?"
