Wary of humans and preferring to keep to themselves even before the Fall, the mysterious Jötunn had a profound effect on the Norse who lived there, inspiring legends about their consorting and fighting with the Gods of the Norse pantheon. Nowadays the Jötunn remain hidden in their enclaves in the North much like they always have, and are rarely seen even for a mythological species. Consequently, the Jötunn are regarded with distrust by some due to their notorious actions in Nordic myth and the general unpredictability of their actions. Despite their reclusive nature, however, the Jötunn are known by a select few to be honorable, proud, and quite gregarious to outsiders, and few are as good of an example of this then the mighty Klara Grimolfdottir. Hailing from the enclave of Harifell, Klara was the only daughter of the ice giant Grimolf, a legendary Jötunn who led his village on a dangerous trek to safer pastures and, if the stories are to be believed, bested a hundred unfriendly humans in combat to save the Jötunn, giving his life to save the enclave. Klara was only a baby when her father passed, but his legend inspired her like nothing else could and drove Klara to dream of becoming a legend herself one day. Channeling her energies into relentless self-improvement, Klara soon emerged as figurehead of her little Jötunn community, respected by all and easily earning the right in their eyes to be known as the daughter of the legendary Grimolf. Given this high status, Klara was naturally the first one called upon when another strange outsider came to the outskirts of Harifell one day. Confronting him at the village gate, the pair of them got into a fight that lasted the whole day and ended with the pair of them laughing and toasting each other's combat skill over glasses of mead the same night. After their celebration, Klara asked who he was, and the man simply replied that he was a Nomad, going on to explain the nature of Ki to her and revealing that she had the capability to be a Nomad herself. Intrigued and excited at the possibility of such a profession, shortly after the man left the village she decided that she was going to be a Nomad too, eager for the chance to meet other warriors like herself, to best them in combat, and to celebrate a hard fought battle alongside them![/indent] [/indent] [h3][b]FIGHTING STYLE & ABILITIES[/b][/h3] [indent][u][b]FIGHTING STYLE [/b][/u] [indent]Klara's base fighting style is based largely on Glima, the wrestling style used by the Vikings, augmented with moves from more modern techniques like SAMBO, Judo, and with a bit of a barroom brawl flair thrown in for good measure. The end result is a unique move set that capitalizes on her size and strength, using grapples, throws, and slow, strong hits to overwhelm the opposition with sheer power and knock them around like a rag doll. Her Ki abilities manifest in the form of ice-based constructs, mostly icy totems and weapons which she uses to augment her strengths in battle. [/indent] [u][b]SPECIAL MOVES & TECHNIQUES [/b][/u] [indent][u]■ Ice Totem[/u] [indent]Klara stomps or punches the ground to summon a pillar of ice up from the earth. The pillar comes up with enough force to launch someone into the air, and Klara can push or pull at it with her powers once before it falls apart. She can also take the form of an active ice totem, shattering it and effectively teleporting to its location.[/indent][/indent] [indent][u]■ Cold Cleave[/u] [indent]Klara summons a battleaxe made of ice and hurls it at her opponent, which shatters on impact if it hits someone. Her eyes are a venomous, vibrant shade of green and the tail on her lower half has dark green scales with a cream underbelly. She has a wiry, wispy look to her that's almost seductive at times but still hides a fair bit of athleticism and power. When she's not disguised she wears the mage-like robes of a Collector, colored in the same tones as her tail with a sapphire gem set in the center and with her hood pulled up. To that end, her fighting style, a unique design of her own, heavily relies on her unusual abilities and agility to avoid attacks and poke at her opponents, keeping herself in a dominant position and wearing them down until she can land a powerful finishing blow.[/indent] [u][b]SPECIAL MOVES & TECHNIQUES [/b][/u] [indent][u]■ Serpent's Tongue (Passive)[/u] [indent]Vindani fights her opponents with ki projections resembling biting snakes. While this can be devastating at the right time, it is less helpful if she is fighting more then one unique enemy, and if her opponent can change up their fighting style, ideally with a style change of their own, it can throw her for a loop.[/indent][/indent] [indent] [u]■ [i]Reptilia Superior[/i][/u] [indent]Vindani vanishes from sight and unleashes a flurry of invisible attacks on her opponent, disorienting and stunning them. She then reappears in front of her stunned enemy, raises her arm as if to attack, and tips them over by pressing one finger against their forehead.[/indent][/indent] [indent] [u]■ Queen Cobra[/u] [indent]Vindani staggers her opponent with a barrage of ki snakes before transforming herself into a giant snake, unleashing a lunging bite on her enemy and slamming them into the ground.[/indent][/indent] [u][b]WEAKNESSES & LIMITS [/b][/u] Vindani's abilities with ki are impressive, but her reliance on agility and precision means she has very little to work with in terms of raw power and strength. Her style also requires Vindani to be totally in control of a fight, meaning anyone with a wide variety of skills or is generally unpredictable will have a distinct advantage against her. She also walks into every encounter believing she is the most intelligent, skilled, and all around better fighter, so she has a tendency to underestimate her enemies. She does not gain their abilities if they have any, however, and while disguised she can't use any of her normal abilities, so it's not a move she would readily use in a fight. Vindani is also accompanied by 'Acolyte Katsuko', a lazy kitsune disguised as a human who is a master of the ancient martial art of "running away and hiding".
