Amelia was lost in her thoughts and jumped a bit when Leander spoke, her hand instinctively moving for her heart but she stopped before it got there.

I know a lot of people find a landscape as barren as this boring, but I find it calming and beautiful. It's also nice to watch the sand as it's carried along by the wind over the dunes.
