I did have some thoughts about how Seth might encounter Togepi, mostly along the lines of her actively looking for a [s]minion[/s] trainer after her friends had been caught by other trainers. Quite possibly, she'd been caught by trainers before, and released after they realised that she wasn't exactly a great catch. Obviously this'll need fleshing out, but it's quarter past midnight for me at the moment, and so my brain is starting to get a little bit fuzzy.

I kind of imagined Togepi as having something to prove - especially if she's gone through a few trainers who have all gone "[i]nah, it's not worth keeping that one[/i]" - so perhaps that sort of attitude can manifest itself well through wanting to take part in battles, even when it's not such a good idea. I'll have a bit of a think about this further ([i]after some sleep![/i]) and hopefully come up with something that makes a bit more sense in the morning.
