Just outside of the busy throng still gathered outside the Monroe, a Committee grunt walked up, his hand firmly grasping the arm of a handcuffed and scowling teenager. There was no Captain Raymond to be found, so he tapped into the ship's communications. "Captain? We've got a last-minute addition to your... crew." He let the teenager go with a rough little shove and a glare. "Come and accept her and her remote, please? Or send someone?" The teenager craned her head up, looking at the ship that was going to be her home for the next several years. "...3rd-Gen Assault class? Shit, this may be better than I thought." Her comment to herself was punctuated by her blowing and popping a bright green bubble of chewing gum. Jinayah wasn't exactly convinced about this entire endeavor, but seeing the stars and setting foot on new planets that no one else had touched sounded a lot better than prison. Busting out of lockup was getting old. "Hey, Charlie! What if I do somethin' heroic or rescue somebody? Does that shorten my sentence?" Jin spoke to the Committee member with an easy tone. The man whirled, barely restrained anger in his eyes. "It's Lt. Perrault to you, brat. Not Charlie, not even Charles." "Okay, sure thing, Perry." Jin grinned wide, flashing her teeth at him and watching him snort in annoyance. It was too easy to get on this man's nerves, and his red face gave her no end of glee. She really hoped this Captain Raymond was less prone to getting bothered, otherwise this trip would be boring. "So let's get this disaster in the air, I want a workbench, come on! OW!" Her joy was cut short as the Lt. cuffed her upside the head with little delicateness. "Shut up, brat, and wait until you're collected." "Collected? Tch, what am I, an old wrench?" "Shut it!" He smacked her once more, and stared at the other assembled criminals as if daring one of them to speak up. Jin finally quieted, glaring daggers at the man before popping her gum several times, aggressively. "You think you're real strong, don't you Charlie? I bet you wouldn't be so touchy if I could get these cuffs and that stupid fuckin' anklet off... I've killed people bigger and smarter than you before. You'd better watch it. I still have friends outside that could catch you in a... quiet spot, you know?" She stared him dead in the face, her dark eyes wide and a rictus grin on her face. "I'd loooove to really see you without that precious Committee to back you. Just you and me and whoever stops breathin' first loses. Sounds fun, right Charlie?" The lieutenant looked at the girl, and took a careful, measured step back. This half-starved brat had broken out of more jails than he had promotions, and he was pretty sure she was a murderer like the rest of the Monroe's crew, from the Captain down to that weird rabbit mascot. "Any day now, while I'm still young, Captain?"
