Appearance: Ekaterina looks perfect for a low member of the Onyx Court, meaning that she is almost unnoticeable. Her hair, once slightly red in her youth, she rigorously dyes dark brown to avoid the scrutiny of those above her. She lays makeup thickly not only on her visual faults, but on her more beautiful aspects as well, and does anything in her power to visually stay out of any side of anyone, especially the emperor. 

Personality: Ekaterina is in many matters of manner typical of the Onyx Empire. She is haughty and self-superior, looking down her nose at everyone below her. She believes herself inherently better than the "peasant rabble", and would look down her nose at anyone who doesn't possess noble blood. Also in the manner of the Onyx Empire, she capers and cavorts around anyone she knows to be of higher standing than herself, in hopes of gaining favor and eventually support. 

History: Ekaterina was born and lived her entire life in turmoil. She was the daughter of Prince Slokotya Novonatya of the Principality of Zator, a vassal of the Onyx Empire. At Ekaterina's birth, the emperor was Qartaz Obsidian. Qartaz had two sons, Frederick and Heinrich. When the old emperor died, Frederick ascended the throne, but a few dissident principalities, including Zator, backed Heinrich's claim, the younger brother being less intelligent and easier to manipulate. Frederick, who had renamed himself Titus in honor of the ancient civilizations, was easily able to crush this uproar, and confiscated the Principality of Zator from the Novonatya family. Slokotya was imprisoned and later executed, and left his daughter nothing but an ill-reputed name. The Onyx Emperor likely noticed her aptitude for diplomacy, and sent her to Castle Grimm, possibly fearing a conspiracy centered around the daughter of one of his most powerful enemies. Ekaterina, however, plans to forge a secret alliance with the Grimm Dynasty, and have them back the coup soon to occur in the Onyx Empire.

Why I Fight: Vengeance, plain and simple, against Titus Obsidian.

Skills: Ekaterina's skills are why she was sent on this diplomatic mission to Castle Grimm. She has one of the most silver tongues in the empire, is frugal and smart with money, but most importantly can keep a secret and take it to her grave if need be.
