A bemused smile graced the indigo-haired teenager's face. "It won't be too far of a walk," she said with a light chuckle, turning away as to guide her underclassman along the right and proper path towards the Saizeriya.

It was appearing as if any of the surprise she may have displayed in response to the sudden revelation had avoided detection by Akane, a fact that the older girl was truly grateful for; it would head off an unwanted and awkward conversation that was also quite unfitting to be discussed in a public venue, lest Akane was to further upset the fragility of her secret identity, and in the process even allow others to deduce that she, Katsura Hyoukyo and class representative of East Umitori High's class 3-G, was of same being as the magical girl known as Copenhagen Star.

That was not a reveal she was actively seeking out. Having a secret identity was an immense boon, one that bestowed upon her numerous conveniences that she doubted would exist had she been publicly associated with Copenhagen Star. For example, her desire to enter the world of academia, and the scientific world, to be exact, could possibly be stymied by her role as a magical girl. Beyond the simple dint of having immense powers generally difficult to explain (and thus essentially placing firm expectations on her to do research that would actually be able to explain such phenomena, or putting her in the role of a willing research subject), there would great difficulty in what could be described as "being taken seriously" - ignoring the existing lack of females in her desired field of research and employment (particularly within her country of residence), it would be even harder not to question the authority of somebody with "magical girl" in their job description.

Secondly, the media attention and public scrutiny that would be associated with such a reveal was not one that she was going to relish handling. Hyoukyo was a rather private individual, and having each and every one of her actions placed underneath the electron microscope was in a way quite disturbing. It was an inexorable connection between her and her magical girl exploits, and in the public consciousness she would forever be Copenhagen Star. No matter how much she appreciated the strengths afforded to her, it was also a duty, and to be linked permanently to that duty would never allow her a chance to rest simply as Katsura Hyoukyo.

Lastly, she would have to explain to her family and that would just be really awkward.

Oh hey you're actually soundin' like yourself again instead of yappin' like an essay. Think I snoozed out at science.

She ignored the commentary of her fae companion, instead focusing upon the individual that was likelier to provide legitimately worthwhile information.

"Do you enjoy Italian?" she asked as the Saizeriya began to come into view.

"Excellent, Since this is supposed to be an apology I'd give you the honors of picking the place to dine at."

Risa bowed again with a light smile on her face although she did give a sideways glare of annoyance over to her two companions.

"Hey Marza, Know any good things in here to get and read?"

Lisa said to the fairy. Being essentially a copy of Risa she does care enough to not ruin this moment too much for her...

"Oh now that you mention it, that was what i was supposed to be doin in here... Right... Follow me~!"

Remarked the fairy as she fluttered over to one of the isles, which when Lisa saw what was on the front covers caused her to almost immediately regret reminding the fairy of what she was doing in the shop...

"Those... are tabloids..."

"Yes exactly, you said you wanted good stuff to read right? These be the best ones around, unless you want to have a look at the more boring stuff..."

"Ugh... Fine, let's see what we got here..."

She finally relented and followed the fairy's lead...

Akane shuffled a little awkwardly as she followed along with the older girl. Ah, that was so close... what would have happened if Katsura-senpai had found out? She didn't really know. The rulebook that Melody had shown her didn't actually say there was anything preventing a magical girl from being open about her identity, but nearly all the magical girls Akane followed were pretty secretive, even the ones who were high on the popularity polls. Even when a magical girl played herself as some kind of idol, they almost never showed their actual identity. Twitter accounts, websites, they were all set up with the intent of simply never revealing who was behind them. Even if there were no rules against it, Akane had wanted to follow this example, as a magical girl. To keep her identity secret. So Melody falling out of her bag had been so close it had really sort of scared her. She was thankful that it hadn't turned out badly.

"Ah? Um..." Akane paused for a moment. It wasn't exactly often that she had Italian food in the first place, so she hadn't formed a serious opinion on it as a whole. "I don't get to eat it very often, but it's usually pretty good when I do."

This was bad. Things were getting worse and worse by the minute. It was a wild impulse and now she was trapped. Shizuri didn't even know any local places to eat other than take out pizza shops. She might have been able to handle things if she had listened to Fid more and wouldn't be here if she hadn't listened to the fairy at all. She was forced to admit as much.

"I don't really know anywhere to eat around here. I did say I didn't get out much."

She looked a little bit emberassed.

Tsukada Yuzuki swaggered on through the mercantile district with her hands clasped behind her head. She let out a loud and piercing whistle while her eyes followed the scenery. There were quite the variety of stands, shops and restaurants to take a look at. However this whistling disturbed the nasty and pest bug like fairy that was currently in her overall pocket. Buzzing upwards Sayaka rubbed at right eye and stared annoyed at Tsukada.

"What was that?"

"Shucks, I'd reckon you dun heard t'whistlan."

The fairy yawned as she stretched both of her arms upwards, "Well stop it. Look kid, I need my beauty sleep. It helps me concentrate." At this Tsukada let out a guffaw. A single eyebrow of Sayaka's twitched as she placed her hands on her hips, "How come you're laughing?"

"Ain'tcha more concence- con- focused when yer waken?" The fairy slapped her right palm against her face as she flew up right in front of Tsukada Yuzuki's nose. Tsukada's eyes took a moment to focus on her fairy as Sayaka began to poke her on the nose. "Look, okay, okay, I will explain this again. I've got the brains you've got the looks, and we're gonna make lots of money. You've got the brawn I've got the brains, we're gonna make lots of money. We've got opportunities kid. But in order for me to make the most of your opportunities and properly manage you I need my me time for resting and scheming. Understand?"

Tsukada Yuzuki removed her hands from behind her head and rubbed at her nose. "Guessin I do." The fairy nodded in approval before returning back to the pocket. Tsukada turned her head from side to side and stretched her back. She blinked at her surroundings before hearing the rumblings of her stomach.

"Shoot. Oughta start fixin' ta get some manner of grub."

"I'm not really in a position to criticize you but it's a big world out there, in fact, its too big... Might as well see as much of it as you can..."

Risa was silent for a while and her eyes go unfocused for a second...

"Anyways I digress... around here, it's actually more difficult to NOT find a place to eat at... Well that goes for everywhere in the city really... I've not been further than a few dozen meters from a vending machine of some description... Like that one..."

She points over to the other side of the street where a beverage machine was situated, it had the usual fair of cold sodas and teas, to the unusual, such as hot soda and soup...

"...Hmm, If you're done with your book shopping, we could go have a stroll about the foody places... And you'd just pick one you like... Whatd'ya say to that plan?"

Risa finishes with a light smile crossing her features...

Meanwhile on the opposite end of the store...

" Well 'The Major' has dropped a spot again on this poll..."

Marza points out as she does some illicit private reading on a corner...

"You do remember that Risa doesn't particularly bother much about this malarkey... And by extension, neither do I..."

"Oh come on... At least pour a bit of that pride into this... I thought you girls liked a bit of competition..."

"Yes but not this sort... And besides the only reason 'The Major' was in any way popular is because Risa's identity is public... When the 'non-secretive mahou shoujo' image gets old, naturally popularity would drop..."

"Well... Do something that would at the very least keep you on the poll's front page..."

"Like what exactly? As much as I'd hate to admit it, Risa's not that much of a looker to draw in the masses through her... aesthetic appeals..."

"Hmm... Well most of Risa's fans tend to be military otaku because... Well let's be honest, she and you, are... Also her fans like her petite and under devel..."

"You finish that sentence and you're the one that's gonna get served..."

Snapped Lisa as she glared daggers at the fairy...

"... Ehe he... Right, sorry... Anyways, you could improve your popularity by like doing service work... Like say find a maid cafe, arrange for a special 'Major's night' or something where you get a bunch of splits to be the waitresses and service personnel for a night... It's a lot of win in there... The cafe owners get a boost in patronage because of the customers you would attract... The customers would have their fantasy of being served by the Major... in a good way to be fulfilled... And Risa and you by extension should become more popular while at the same time earning some money..."

"Hmm... That is a brilliant idea... except for one thing..."

Lisa gestured to herself to finish the statement...

"... Right, You and Risa would make for terrible waitresses and service personnel... Still it is an idea to consider..."

"Should stick to something simple... A band, now Risa's not at all talented enough to do songwriting so we'd start with some covers first..."

"That's... a nice one..."

"Great... now would you please return that copy of Mahou Shoujo Ace back... Private reading is frowned upon you know..."

"Nah... I'm buyin this..."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah... So what's the band gonna be called?"

"The Company!"

"Yeah, nice try but that's dreadful..."

"You cheeky little bugger..."

"That's wonderful to hear," said the older girl with a quiet smile, opening the door to the restaurant so that her underclassman could enter before her. "It would be remiss of me to take you out for food that you disliked."

Saizeriya's meals, however, were not entirely representative of the full gamut of genuine Italian cuisine. The recipes may have originated in that Mediterranean style, but as the menu she had taken as they settled down at the table suggested, there was a particularly Japanese spin on the meals. Otherwise, she would not have been able to order the "Seafood Spaghetti with Tomato & Cream" (for a measly 500 yen), nor would there have been Hamburg steaks present. And in order to maintain the relatively low prices of the dishes, it was to be expected that the Italian food would be lacking in comparison to a place that did not serve as a family restaurant.

"What would you like to order?" she asked patiently, placing her own menu down on the desk now that she had decided on what to eat. Her eyes surveyed the room, looking past where Akane was sitting in front of her to watch the people in the restaurant. It was not a particularly busy day, which suited her purposes fine. Not only did it mean that the restaurateurs would be able to avoid a glut of customers, it also meant that in case her new magical girl friend accidentally revealed any more, the chance of someone witnessing or overhearing would have been reduced.

Oi, you already don't have faith in the kiddo? That's a bitta a dick move, dontcha think?

Merely a precaution if her accident repeats itself.

Jeez, you're not at all trusting there of other magical folks are ya? You don't even trust your best partner, me!

Do not fret, Fujimori has given me less reason for distrust than you.

That's pretty---- Oi! What the fuck does that mean?

Katsura Hyoukyo, third-year and class representative of East Umitori's Class 3-G, ignored her fairy companion's loud mental rant, focusing instead on the aforementioned Akane. It was still admittedly quite surprising to know that her cute underclassman was in fact the same newborn magical girl she had rescued the previous day, but with closer inspection, it was remarkably obvious. The same aura of shyness radiated from them both. Yet had the girl not failed to obscure her own miniscule pixie, she would likely not have been able to connect the dots. It was interesting how their powers worked to hide their identities.

However, she could leave thoughts on that topic for later. She was hungry. She liked spaghetti.

The pseudo-Italian of Saizeriya's was fine by Akane. Her frantic suggestion of going out to eat had been a split second decision, but now that she had actually entered the restaurant and sat down she realized just how hungry she was. Needless to say, she was fairly quick to start scanning the menu. The shuffling from inside her bag indicated to her that Melody wanted to see what was outside, but wasn't going to press the issue after the incident from earlier. For a few moments, the redheaded girl scanned the menu. In her current state of hunger, almost everything sounded good. To be truthful, it was frankly nearly impossible for her to actually come to a decision, due to her hunger making everything look like some kind of absolute delicacy.

When you're hungry enough, everything looks like a five star meal.

"Ah? Um..." When Katsura-senpai asked her about what she wanted to order, she frantically scanned the menu again. She felt like she should try and decide quickly, both for the sake of her own appetite and so that the older girl would also be able to quickly order her own meal. After some fretting and hesitation, the girl managed to make a decision.

"Um, the seafood spaghetti looks good!" she said, lowering the menu and smiling, quickly shutting it as well to avoid being distracted by more options.

A voice in her head, from her fairy, declared that she would have liked to see the menu options as well. In the time it took for Akane to realize just how she was being communicated to, the fairy got impatient and asked more vocally.

"I wanted to see the-" Melody began, trying to poke her head out of the back, only for Akane to swiftly clap her hand down on her back to keep the fairy hidden. You could practically see the nervous sweatdrop.

That had been muffled enough not to be audible, right?

She looked around shyly, halfheartedly looking for an escape but none presented themselves. At least she had left Fid at home, it would have been bad to have been found out so easilly.

"Sure..."

She really needed to pick up groceries but that could wait. Almost at random she pointed to an italian resturaunt that looked like it might serve pizza. She still hadn't gotten over the craving from the night before.

"How about there?"

"Looks fine..."

Risa commented as she lead Shizuri and her two companions towards the Italian style restaurant... Once inside she lead Shizuri inside before turning around to face the two...

"Right you... get in"

She said as she pointed at Marza, to which the fairy grinned and continued inside...

"You... stay here..."

And that one was for Lisa... To which her special split just shrugged at and proceeded to grumble away...

Inside the restaurant Risa leads Shizuri and her fairy to a nice window table...

"Alright... What'd you have?..."

Risa asked Shizuri however she got an answer from her fairy as well..

"I'm gonna start of with that smoked salmon..."

"Look I wasn't asking you... but smoked salmon does sound nice..."

Risa then looks expectantly at Shizuri waiting for the girl's answer...

She looked at the menu. it was more of a street food but wasn't something she typically got to try.

"I'll have the calzone."

Shizuri looked between the girl and her fairy.

"So why did you want me here. It can't just be because you wanted to apologize."

Nakajima Hoshi

"Say, Tendou?"
Hoshi asked beneath her breath, scanning the menu for the fifth time in as many minutes. "Is it me, or..?"

Your instincts have been honed by thousands of years of survival, Hoshi. If they are telling you something, it would be wise to hear it.

"I think I've seen half of these people before."

It was said in a surreptitious whisper, that from any reasonable distance would appear to only be her mumbling the items back to herself. However, the edge of assuredness in her voice was enough to give the fairy hidden within her bag pause. A silent moment of contemplation followed, before the smallest of motions within the bag at her side signified the fairy raising her head out ever so slightly.

She had to see this for herself.

"So, whom is it you recognize?" she asked, taking great care to stay hidden underneath the shadows of Hoshi's wallet. "Do you mean the staff?"

"No, the other customers." Hoshi corrected under her breath, slowly and gently nudging her down and grimacing as she met resistance. "Tendou! You're gonna get spotted!"

I want to see if I can help you figure this out. Relax, young Hoshi. The more commotion you cause and the more suspicion you arouse, you know.

Wisely electing to use the privacy of their minds to bicker at full strength, Hoshi remained steadfast.

What if someone sees you?

"It is fun to add a secret flavor so that no one knows. But... it's more fun to find it."

As did her fairy companion.

Now, do you actually recognize them, or just find them strangely familiar?

"Well..."

She scanned the room once more.

"See that table with the really pretty dark-haired one and the redhead?"

I do.

"The older girl's Katsura Hyoukyo-senpai." Hoshi stated, steepling her hands in front of her face and wishing she was wearing white gloves, orange shades, and was sitting in front of a massive screen to truly complete the look. "Word around school is that she's one of the smartest people attending, and is preparing for some big-shot universities..."

She does look familiar... As expected. the fairy acknowledged, A potential tutor?

Hoshi shook her head in the negative.

"Even if I needed one, which I don't... u-usually; I wouldn't want to bug her about it and I bet her schedule's really busy. Besides, I wouldn't be able to make it if it was after school half the time, remember?"

True, true. I do hope your duties haven't been harming your studies terribly much.

"Nah..." she waved it off. "Juuuuust bombed one little pop quiz because I was out too late..."

That won't do, Hoshi.

Moving right along from that!

"And I feel like I've seen the Redhead before too... Oh, I know!"

You know?

"She's in the same year as me! That's why she's familiar, I see her in the halls all the time."

If you two run into eachother that often, maybe you should say hello, no?

"Think I could say hello right now?"

That would be overdoing it...

"Aw, c'mon. I'm friendly enough."

"When not close by, one is even closer." To come on too strong would only push them away, you know.

"It's a rather fine choice," said the older girl with a light smile, the expression betraying none of her reactions to the reappearance of Akane's fairy compatriot. She had known of its presence after the sudden reveal before their arrival at the Saizeriya, but seeing it again was still quite a surprise. The association of her underclassman with the same magical girl she had assisted during the Negari fight was still one that was quite difficult to wrap her head around, simply due to how obvious it seemed in hindsight. The magics that kept their identities secret, it seemed, were quite powerful indeed.

She wondered how exactly they functioned. There was little that Hyoukyo could do to find the truth behind their workings, especially given her choice in pixie partner, and experimental evidence was likely hard to come by. The information would simply be lost to sands of time, as if socks falling behind the washing machine, never to be found again. Of course, given the amount of time necessary for her to expend on both studying and defending the city, poking her head into an attempt at learning the origins of magic would only add to her workload. It would be simpler if she could find a member of the fae who was more keen on such abilities.

Particularly in comparison to Kanaria.

"Have you tried it before?" she asked after calling over a waiter to take their order, ignoring her companion's protests in her mind.

She did note that there were a number of familiar figures also present in the restaurant. One of which she was certain was another underclassman of hers from East Umitori.

"Ah, I thought it sounded good," replied Akane with a nervous laugh. At least it seemed like Katsura-senpai hadn't seen Melody again... what was that fairy thinking!? Weren't they supposed to be secretive? Or was the tiny girl just too enthusiastic to remember something like that? Akane shuffled nervously in her seat, before taking a deep breath and glancing around the room. Come to think of it, there were a lot of people she recognized, even if it was in passing, around. There was the girl she'd run into earlier, another girl in her year... it was funny how so many people had come together like this in the same place, in a way...

Slowly, Akane dragged herself back to the situation at hand. Right, Katsura-senpai hadn't seen her fairy, so everything was fine!

"I haven't, um, but there's a first time for everything, right?" she asked, with another nervous laugh. It was hard not to allow her nerves to get the better of her, but at least Melody seemed to have gotten the message. The fairy had retreated to sit and pout in her bag, which was better then poking her head out at the very least.

"To be perfectly honest, It indeed was the only reason. Though now that you mention it, perhaps it's also because I needed a conversation..."

Risa takes this moment to wave over a waiter to their table before continuing...

"One that involves a new face at least, Which reminds me that we have not been properly introduced yet... Katsuragi Risa, eighteen, otherwise known as The Major on days who's weather forecast includes light drizzling of negari..."

Risa introduced herself. Something which she probably should have done earlier...

"Indeed," she acknowledged, expressing a kindly smile in her underclassman's direction. "I hope you do enjoy it; it's something I'm personally fond of too."

The waiter came by, scribbling their respective orders into a notepad before leaving for the kitchens, where he would task the Saizeriya's cooks to craft the meals they had requested. With that small bit of business said and done, however, it was beginning to occur to Katsura Hyoukyo that her underclassman was very much a bundle of nerves. Despite the rudeness of her impression of the other girl, it was hard not to admit that the awkwardness inherent to Akane was bemusing to watch in action. There was something cute about the attempts to hide their fae companion, and even though the class representative knew that she, as an upperclassman, had a responsibility to assist the younger girl in her troubles, merely watching was already a source of entertainment.

An unacceptably strange source of divertissement, much like watching videos of the destruction of ant colonies via molten metal, but the East Umitori student could only do so until she could think of a way to render assistance without revealing her own identity. As both a fellow student and a more experienced "work colleague", it was her responsibility to make sure that the younger girl could safely adjust to the magical girl lifestyle and balance those commitments with schoolwork. Doing so, of course, was more difficult than said; she would have to approach the situation carefully, experiment on what methods worked best, before really being able to help.

"You're free to relax, Akane," said the older girl after a few seconds, pale fingers tapping quietly against the table between them. "There's no need to be so nervous."

The best way to proceed, from her view, would to get to know her underclassman. And that would only work if Akane didn't seem as nervous around her. Reassuring the younger girl was the first thing that came to mind; it was difficult making friends with somebody who seemed overly on the edge.

Makin' friends, really boss?

Is it something new to you then, Kanaria?

Charlotte Adams – The Unreachable Star

I-I don’t know Puck.” Charlotte stood outside of the café peering inwards. It reminded her of a Denny’s – only nicer. The girl was approximately five feet tall and looked like a child. She had a stutter that only helped with this inclination many people had of her. Typically, Charlotte didn't make time to go out to cafes that were this busy. However, she wanted today to be different. She wanted to make friends. She just wasn't alotted time for it. But with Puck and everything that was happening, maybe it was time for some change?

Pssh. Please, they’d be lucky to bask in your greatness, bruh.” Puck replied peeking out of Charlotte’s hair which was a common hiding place for her.

W-why would they w-want to speak to me. N-none of them even know me yet.” She asked her characteristic stutter hitting her hard. It came out much more when she was nervous, after all. “B-besides. What’s the p-point of hanging out with s-someone when t-they can’t even know about you.

Oh Charlotte. Poor Naïve, socially inept Charlotte. They will feel my presence. If not through you, than through my plans for this puny world.

W-what?

Get in there already would ya.

Charlotte nodded, tying her hair back into ponytail while Puck nestled back in with the bow. The young American girl took a deep breath. Today she would not be a coward. Today, she would be someone. She walked into Saize and immediately strode up to the counter.

“You look like the kind of girl who wants coffee, black I assume?” The server asked indignantly. Charlotte blinked. She hated black coffee.

S-sure.” She said, her shoulder slouching down. The server seemingly patted themselves on the back for getting her order ‘right’. Maybe tomorrow. As she grabbed the warm beverage she looked for somewhere to sit but the place was packed. Half the school must’ve been in here. She noticed one girl with her backpack in a booth alone. She was probably waiting for someone. She wouldn’t want company, let alone someone to bug her.

U-um… W-would y-you mind if I-I sit down?” Charlotte asked the young girl.

Nakajima Hoshi

In response, Hoshi's eyebrows rose just a tad in unreadable disbelief.

Speak of the devil, for it's name be East Umitori High...

Another classmate?

Yep...

And then all at once, she perked up and was right back to her usual sunshine-y self, flashing the foreign girl one of her trademark megawatt smiles. "Oh, not at all!" Nudging her bag ever so slightly, in the rare case that Tendou needed a signal and the slightly more likely case that she was within line of sight, Hoshi presented the other side of the booth with an amiable wave of the arm. "Make yourself at home!"

Close...

You have so little faith in me.

"Eh heh heh..." Hoshi chuckled sheepishly as the other girl took her seat. "Sorry, I was spacing out and it took me a second there to realize you were talking to me... But hey, now that I have, I recognize you!"

And thus, Charlotte Adams began to experience being the subject of Hoshi Nakajima's youthful exuberance.

"Yeah, yeah... You're the new transfer student, right?" she asked, holding her hand to her chin in an exaggerated mockery of a thoughtful pose before snapping as she reached her conclusion.

Now Hoshi, it's best we give her some time to bre-- Tendou sagely began, noting the poor American's shy demeanor that her partner was in the process of bowling straight over with a sigh. At least, she mused, the silver lining was that said partner didn't have a judgmental or unfriendly bone in her body.

In terms of people to get absolutely swamped with questions by, the young Shooting Star wasn't a bad choice...

"I'm Hoshi Nakajima! It's a pleasure to actually get to properly meet you, you know, outside of the whole class introductions thing!"

Oh, who am I kidding?

That poor girl is going to go cross-eyed.

"Oh, um, that's great!" Akane said, trying to focus on the prospect of getting a tasty meal rather then any of the other nervous thoughts plaguing her mind at the moment. Certainly, she was quite hungry... ah, how had she ended up like this, though? Inviting an upperclassmen to lunch had just been such a spur of the moment thing, had it really been a good idea? This wasn't normally something she ever did... had becoming a magical girl filled her with some kind of strange sense of boldness? And yet, this seemed to be some utterly misplaced confidence given how nervous she'd become just sitting down.

Deep down, she began to want to slap herself in the face. Why had she thought inviting an upperclassmen she'd barely ever spoken to before for a meal was a good idea? It was like the most awkward possible date or something!

... Why did she have to have to think of that comparison?! Now it just felt even more awkward!

When Katsura-senpai pointed out that she didn't need to be nervous, well, that was just icing on the cake, really.

"A-ah, well, er," Akane blushed, trying to shunt the embarrassing date comparison out of her thoughts, "I guess it's just, um, this wasn't, ah, this isn't something I do a lot, really, um, it was really sudden so er... s-sorry if I'm being awkward or something..."

She trailed off.

You can do it, Akane-chan! I believe in you!

At least Melody had turned around from pouting to cheering her on... Though the fact that she needed cheering on just talking to someone new was a little bit of a depressing prospect for Akane.

Shizuri nodded. She knew who the Major was, well before she'd introduced herself. It would only be polite that she introduce herself as well. She looked down at the table as she spoke.

"I'm Himura Shizuri. And I know well who the Major is. You found me in that kind of magazine shop."

She stopped talking for several seconds.

"I'm afraid I won't be much good for conversation."
