In one moment, Vella had been retreating backwards with the scientist when she had suddenly noticed the advancing Rykarn journeying headfirst into the circus of carnival horror creeps, gunning for the mines!
In the next moment; all but a blink; a wall of force and thick layer of dust would usher out throughout the entire battlefield from the entryway, hitting Vella like a storm and promptly knocking her on her butt before she could even open her mouth to protest!

The shimmering blue Tech Barriers surrounding her flickered as they absorbed whatever miscellaneous items were thrown around the room, the force of the cain mines capable of turning even a tooth sized reaper implant or small pebble into a deadly projectile versus unarmored flesh! As she fell backwards, her vision thrown up and around, Vella could see large chunks or rocks or pieces of reaper infected flesh flying through the air around her; before she promptly hit the ground!

"[color=6ecff6]Owwwhh... [/color]" 

Vella murmured as she lay on her back for a moment, just as a second chain explosion went off, though this one passed mostly harmlessly over her as she was already prone.

The blue holographic HUD from inside her helmet indicated that her Kinetic Shield and Tech barriers were still up, having mostly absorbed the dangerous shrapnel whilst letting parts of the shockwave pass through. Although nothing indicated any serious damage, the whole ordeal had nonetheless felt like receiving a hostile massage from an angry Elcor!

At least the landing had been soft...

Soft? Vella suddenly rolled onto one knee and got up, looking around to realize she had landed on the Cerberus scientist! The man in question, despite being unarmored and unshielded, looked relatively intact despite the close proximity to the detonation of multiple cain units!
That was, his body looked mostly intact at least. The man's eyes were wide open and glazed over as he stared directly up into the air with a slack jaw and dumb look on his face, occasionally tilting his head around to gaze about in confusion.

On second note, he may have lost his hearing. And may also be shell-shocked?

"[color=6ecff6]You'll be fine![/color]"

Vella gave the scientist a pat on his shoulder, before getting up and slotting a new Thermal clip into her Apostle Assault Rifle as she surveyed the scene. 

What had been the legion of the damned that had been pouring out of the entryway had been mostly reduced to a sea of reaper-blue gore splattered randomly across what little parts of the room was visible through the damnable smoke! Thankfully, her hearing had been protected by the audio-regulators in her helmet, so she could still hear; occasional howls and growls from somewhere deep within the mist, but also:

"[b]RYKARN[/b]"

She recognized Salissa's voice, and was surprised to hear there was a tone of; concern in it? 
From all she had seen of the human so far, nothing would indicate Salissa being an empathic individual. If she was concerned, then there was serious trouble afoot!

Stepping forward and following the sound of the voice, she advanced through the thick dust with rapid steps, passing through rubble, debris and broken reaper bodies. A husk could be seen staggering through the dust, only to be promptly executed by Vella as she passed by it, using her biotics to twist its neck around and blow it back into one of the nearby rocks!

Emerging from the thick layer of dust like a ghost, the gleam of her silver armor and blue lights of her Tech Armor giving her a phantom look, she would come across a lumbering creature stepping through the ruined battlefield; a scarred and beaten Rykarn that was currently being murder-jockeyed by a couple of dessicated husks!
Fortunately however, Aegon was already there, slashing away at the husks with his omni-blades at an alarming efficiency and fervor, quickly cleaning the Krogan of the murderous dead!

Vella joined in without hesitation, firing two rapid shots in two silver streaks that cut down two advancing husks from behind them, before a shimmering blue aura appeared around the Asari as she used her biotics to grab the head of a third husk; squeezing it in and causing it to cave-in on itself in a sickening wet squelching noise, continuing by forcing the ruined reaper head downwards and burying the mangled remnants of its head inside its own torso before flinging it aside!

"[color=6ecff6][b]That was stupid![/b][/color]" 

Vella exclaimed as she took her attention away from the husks to rush towards the duo of Aegon and Rykarn, taking position with them as she accompanied them back towards friendly cover. However, her voice would betray a tone of enthusiasm even through her solid silver plated helmet as she spared a quick glance at Rykarn!

"[color=6ecff6][b]You should totally teach me sometime![/b][/color]"
