With regards to the discussion, I'm going to vote on a tech-based cause. Mainly because Crescent City seems to be a hub for Hyperhumans and the like. So given that there are organizations, namely the Constantine's Guard, who oppose the Hyperhumans and have been working on new weaponry to level the playing field, it wouldn't be a terrible plan to create technology that could literally [i]alter[/i] the playing field in their fight against Hyperhumanity similarly to how the Hypes can.

Some interesting answers here. After the first three secondary plots wrap up, I'll be updating the IC as the events take their toll on the main story and some clues for the mystery will be dropped.
