[@Cyclone], Muttonhawk provided a pretty good summary of hain religion. I'll provide my own commentary on Chippers. Chippers are pretty much everywhere, since travelling is something a devoted Chipper does. At a minimum, a Chipper is someone who follows the actions of Stone Chipper by making some effort to spread technological information. Chippers are significantly more likely to worship Teknall than other hain, but worshiping Teknall (or Stone Chipper) is not required of a Chipper, although all Chippers respect Stone Chipper. Of course, there are some Chippers who are fanatically devoted to Teknall (eg. Shammik), but they are less common. Considering that Teknal hasn't actually put any rules in place for his religion, Teknall-worship lacks rituals of its own. If anyone does do anything more than pray, learn and teach as part of worshipping Teknall, it will be borrowed from the surrounding religions. The line between Stone Chipper and Teknall is somewhat blurred among the hain. While walking Galbar, Stone Chipper claimed to be a prophet of Teknall, rather than Teknall himself. However, considering Stone Chipper's legendary status, some may revere Stone Chipper as highly as the gods themselves. Many probably worship Teknall directly. And some, probably by hearing it twelfth-hand, may consider Teknall and Stone Chipper to be effectively the same person.
