Leisy Takigawa
— Between Stillwater and Feyhollow — “Both ghost-types then?” Leisy asked, noticing that the way Ella’s Duskull moved — a gentle, drifting fashion that had just a touch of forcefulness when the Pokemon darted around — matched the way the pumpkin-topped Pokemon did. “Ghost-type moves are effective against other ghost-types, so watch out if they roughhouse,” she said, a little alarmed when the two Pokemon started chasing each other around. However, upon seeing the relaxed way the game progressed and hearing the bubble-like sounds from either Pokemon — laughter, she figured — Leisy calmed down, relieved the Pokemon were okay. “They get along well,” she observed, smiling as she watched the two spirits dart after each other, eyes aglow with mirth. The sharp cry from Ella jolted Leisy out of her smiling stupor — something that always seemed to happen when she was watching Pokemon — just quick enough for the girl to spot the latter half of a glossy purple-topped cream coat disappearing behind a bush, the long tail lifted in satisfaction as it winked into the darkness. “Oh no you don’t!” she called as Bidein launched into action from his perch on a nearby branch, diving down from the canopy into the bushes. A fierce squawk and some muffled rustling ensued, both bird and cat leaping out from the bush immediately after. While the almost-raptor’s feathers were fluffed up in an attempt to intimidate his opponent, the feline looked unfazed, its brown paper prize still dangling from its mouth as it watched the bird calmly. “Bidein, hold on,” Leisy called, walking over. Her approach caused the cat to look over, gold eyes silent and calculating as it watched the human bend down so that she seemed like less of a threat. “It’s alright,” she reassured it, retrieving a bag of Pokefood from her own bag. “It’s not right to steal things, but I understand why you do,” the girl said, pushing the new bag of berries over. “So take these instead and return the other one, alright?” The cat’s eyes narrowed at the human’s words, itself unmoving in its spot as it considered the offer. Was it worth it to give up her prize in exchange for another one? This bag appeared the same externally, but perhaps it contained less berries than the other. There was no way to tell from where the Purrloin stood, and when she agreed to the trade it would be too late. Seeing that the Pokemon was having some doubts, Leisy reached over and opened the bag, rolling down the sides so that it formed a makeshift bowl of sorts. “Here you are. Don’t be shy,” she said, sliding it over to the feline. Recognizing the signs, Shanae grew hushed, following the Houndour quietly. Alright, Ebon. Lead the way, she thought, keeping pace next to her fire-type, her footsteps noticeably louder compared to her Pokemon’s. This, however, failed to bother the fire-type as he went right on with the trail, ear pricked and nose twitching. The trail led the duo towards the back of the area where shrubs gave way to scattered boulders and rocks varying in size as much as the ground varied in color. Other than the shrubs, the ground was relatively clear of greenery — not that the dry, yellow bunches helped much. Not much fauna out and about either, Shanae thought with a frown, following in her Houndour’s steps. I guess it’s the fate of a city founded and living on industry — grand and lonely, rich with variety and invention but poor at the same time. A soft growl from Ebon told Shanae that they were close, and she nodded at the fire-type to show that she was ready to see what was around the bend of the large earthen hill they’d come to a stop beside. A nest, perhaps? Most Pokemon are aggressively territorial around their nests, so this wouldn’t be the ideal place to host a fight, she thought, steps slow and measured and body pressed close to the side of the mound as she rounded the corner, head craned to get a glimpse of whatever it was that had her Houndour on edge. A heavy thumping noise from behind her jolted Shanae into a flinch as she flattened herself against the hill in surprise. “Marvin?” the woman asked in surprise as the boy’s Onix pulled to a halt a few meters away from her, dipping its head down to allow its trainer to climb off. “Heya — just thought I’d check up on you, but it looks like you really do need me around,” Marvin Terra said, a smug grin on his face.
