I'll probably go for RNG, aka what you're doing in your RP, iirc. [@Raddum] gave some solid reasons, iirc.

It depends on the card. If the VG card is more balanced/conveniently simplified(which they usually are), I'll go for the VG card.

If the anime version is more balanced/simplified and/or has its own archetype, the anime version will be picked.

So for example, Scab Scar-Knight's anime version will be used.
